See this on your way in as not sure if one really wants to leave the San Gerardo de Dota area once you are in. The drive in was a lot more challenging than I had ever imagined. Maybe a warning about the drive in would be helpful to people. Doable but just good to be forewarned.
Clouds often prohibit viewing volcanos in Costa Rica. Leave early in the day to beat the clouds. Somewhat unique to this volcano is that even though it may appear (from below) clouds may prevent viewing - a trip to the top may be rewarded with views as travel up may actually take you above the clouds.
Rainy day so not possible to appreciate the spectacular view due to cloud cover
