Thank you for taking care of the guests. We read the comments of other guests who stayed in the past and understand that different people have different experience but considering the price of the Homestay and the service they provide, compare to any similar price range resorts in Bohol, we believe Aila is value for money and excellence of service. Yet there was a huge communicational problem and I think the owner should consider give some trainings to their stuff. When I texted the hotel no. for arranging pick-up service, I told them to arrange tuktuk at the first place but they missed this message and arranged a car. When we tried to discuss about the price, all of the staff came and rudely asked us to pay more than we chose. They even said to call the police. The kid felt so scared by their attitude. After this, they were not allowed to check in earlier even the room was available. When I made an international phone call, the girl (who claimed to be the manager) kept repeating "it is your problem. It is your choice. You didn't pay" for at least one minute without allowing me to say a word. Then I had to say "I have listened patiently for one minute. Can I talk now? Can I speak?" Then I explained the entire situation and screepcapture the message I sent them initially. They finally understood it was their mistake and offered early checkin and free ride to the beach. The total experience was kind of bad, especially when we travelled with kid. If the hotel tried to comfort the guest, it would show that they care us, but they trapped the kid in the reception even there was a room to check in. 2) the staff dont value the guests. Good service. Good at communicating with them. They are helpful with driving to and from Alona Beach and help with laundry. The apartments are in good condition. On the negative side, they have a dog that was about to attack us but was stopped at the last minute by the owners. The dog was mostly on a leash, but sometimes it got loose. We therefore had to go inside and inform the owners about it. This happened about 2 to 3 times. New property that is simply amazing. Very very quiet. Only 6 units. Our units kitchen was well equipped. Lots of space has each place is like a small apartment. Staff are always cleaning something, pool is cleaned everyday. There are about 6 restaurants with 1 km. There are two very friendly dogs on the premises,.neither of the dogs bark. They have a Tuk Tuk on premises to take you wherever you like for a fee. Can’t say enough good things about Alia Homestay. The residences are beautiful and well-equipped: good kitchen, excellent air con, comfortable bed. The pool is super clean and the perfect temperature. The area is very quiet, being on a side road away from the hustle and bustle of Alona Beach. I highly recommend renting a scooter as it is a bit of a walk to Alona, where most of the restaurants and shops are, although the resort offers a tuk tuk shuttle service on demand and for a fee. Trash, junk and garbage piled up on the wooden fence. This is a resort not a landfill. Clean it up. Pans so big you can only use one at a time on the stove because they are too big to allow two pans at a time Some of the towels are wearing thin and need to be replaced. The hosts/managers are not very friendly. No smiling faces or how are you greetings. After 21 days they should be able to greet you by your name. Seems like it was an inconvenience for them to open/close the gate to allow our car to go in and out. Not they type of people you would expects at a resort trying to earn a repeat visit. We stayed at a couple other resorts and they were hella friendly and cheerful. We will go to those places on the next trip. Pool was nice and clean but in the evening they turned the underwater lights off so it made it so you couldn't swim in the evening. Maybe trying to save money? Just an average place so don't expect much.
