Find hotels in Padre Márquez

The best area to stay in Padre Márquez is near the banks of the Marañón River, particularly around the main plaza.

This central area offers convenient access to the river, which is the lifeblood of the community. You'll find the local market here, where you can experience daily life and find fresh produce. The main plaza is a pleasant spot for a stroll, often hosting local gatherings. For those interested in the natural environment and local culture, this is an ideal base.

Couples looking for a quiet and authentic experience will appreciate staying near the river. It provides a tranquil setting with opportunities for boat trips to explore the surrounding waterways and observe the local wildlife.

The best time to visit Padre Márquez is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.

During these months, you'll experience lower water levels on the rivers, making it easier to spot wildlife along the banks and river islands. The weather is generally sunny with less humidity, which makes exploring the rainforest more comfortable. This period is particularly good for wildlife enthusiasts as animals are more active and visible.

The wet season, from November to April, sees higher water levels. While this means some trails might be submerged, it also allows for deeper exploration into flooded forests by boat, offering a different perspective of the ecosystem. However, expect more rain and higher humidity during this time.
