Daluz Boutique Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Perfect stay for exploring Preveza and beyond! My partner and I stayed for a week at the end of the season to explore the region and check out the Preveza Marina for a future retirement harbor. Family room 209 was absolutely perfect for us. Every member of the staff was exceptional, with a special shout-out to Sophia, who made our mornings wonderful at breakfast. The pool looked lovely and sparkling clean, though the late-season weather (late teens/early 20s) meant it wasn't quite sunbathing weather for us. The hotel is located just out of town, so having a car is highly recommended. However, it offers endless free parking, which was ideal since we clocked over 600 miles exploring Parga, Glyki, and Lefkada. When we wanted to head into town without driving, a taxi was a very reasonable €7 each way. We loved our stay and highly recommend it!"

Piccadilly House

10/10 Excellent

"Very clean and very modern suite with everything you need if you want to cook a little bit. The hotel is situated on a street with no cars and a ton of restaurants, cafes and shops. It is very central so you can get to many historical sites by walking. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I would go back there if I was going back to Arta."

Ninos Grand Beach Hotel & Resort

8/10 Good

"We had a lovely short stay . The staff were exemplary, so helpful . We will likely return again as it’s on route to a port we use every year. Food was excellent and huge choices . Location was lovely as it’s so quiet . You need a car to get round . The only let down for us was the shower as it didn’t have a door and consequently we found ourselves using towels to mop up . The other , when it rained , in the dining hall the roof leaked in several places …"

Marea Suites

10/10 Excellent

"The cleanliness was next level, we saw her steam cleaning things and everything looked and felt properly clean. The owner is friendly and helpful and i enjoyed chatting with him. The wifi was good and stable and the location makes more and more sense each day- its close to everything! The pool was clean, cold and didn’t stink of chlorine so 10/10 for that too."

Preveza City Comfort Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The room was comfortable and clean, with amenities like a hair dryer and a well-placed mirror (something many hotel rooms lack!) the staff were really lovely and very helpful. The hairdryer in my room stopped working and so they lent me one from reception. I’d love to stay here again."

Maissance

10/10 Excellent

"We were very warmly welcomed on our arrival and the reception staff were very helpful throughout our stay. The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was also very clean with a great walk in shower. The location is fantastic - on the edge of the Old Town - you are only a few minutes from the numerous tavernas, bars and town quay. We will definitely recommend to friends."

IonionStar Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"This is a great hotel! We stayed in a superior room and it had a full kitchen, sitting and dining area and wrap around balcony. The owners can’t do enough for you , they are so kind and helpful. It’s spotless and a 6 minute walk from the beach and 15 mins into Preveza centre. We stayed for 7 nights and really appreciated the pool- will definitely return and the airport being 10 mins away is perfect"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Pachykalamos?

The best area to stay in Pachykalamos is within the main village itself, particularly around the central square and the streets leading down to the small harbour.

This central area offers the most convenience, with a good selection of tavernas, cafes, and local shops all within easy walking distance. You'll find accommodation ranging from boutique hotels to self-catering apartments, many offering views of the Ionian Sea. The village has a relaxed pace, and its narrow, winding streets are pleasant to explore on foot.

For couples seeking a romantic and convenient base, staying in the heart of Pachykalamos village is ideal. You'll be steps away from charming waterfront dining experiences and can easily enjoy evening strolls. The village's main beach is also readily accessible, superb for a relaxed day by the sea.

Solo travellers will also appreciate the village centre for its accessibility and the ease of meeting other travellers in the welcoming local establishments.

When is the best time to go to Pachykalamos?

The best time to visit Pachykalamos is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, or September, when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are fewer.

During these months, the temperatures are comfortably warm, typically ranging from 20-28°C, which is ideal for exploring the natural beauty and engaging in outdoor activities without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find the hiking trails more enjoyable and the beaches less crowded, offering a more tranquil experience.

July and August offer the warmest weather, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, making it great for sunbathing and swimming. However, these months are also the busiest, with more holidaymakers and higher prices for accommodation and activities. If you don't mind the bustling atmosphere and prefer guaranteed sunshine, this is a good option.

For those interested in cooler weather and lush greenery, April and October can also be appealing. While the sea might be a bit too cool for swimming, it's an excellent time for hiking and enjoying the scenic landscapes before the summer heat or after it has subsided.
