Wander Camp Grand Canyon

Wander Camp Grand Canyon

10/10 Excellent
"We've pretty much given up camping - the outdoors is great, but setting up a tent and a bed for one night, especially as it's getting dark, then packing it all up the next morning has lost its charms for us. Wander Camp solved those problems by providing a very secure and large tent and a super snug king size bed. The place has a couple dozen tents spread over the range about two miles up pretty rough, but wide and easily followed dirt roads. The camp provides solar lanterns and solar lighted pathways through the camp to the bathrooms. Bathrooms are very clean and include a shower. They have a lighted picnic and fire pit area, with potable water supplies. I don't know if you can cook for yourself. You can also buy burgers for dinner and breakfast from their trailer kitchen if you need to. We enjoyed a stunning sunset over distant hills followed by the best star show we city folk have seen in a while. Even though temps were in the 40s, we were warm in our tent and bed. The camp is about 35 minutes from Grand Canyon NP - so if you want to see the sunrise, get up extra early (and totally avoid the backups and big crowds that build by nine am. Super value for the low cost,"

Grand Canyon Tiny Homes

Grand Canyon Tiny Homes

8/10 Good
"Some good and some could be better. Logistics: I had solo room in house shared with 4 rooms, all separate/external entrances. Unit had a bathroom w/ shower, sink outside of bathroom, mini fridge, coffee machine, bed w/ two bedside tables. Standard smaller tv. The good: - AC worked well - Bed was comfy - General lodging and layout of the place was nice - Check in and check out was fairly easy (they requested me to wash dishes w/o any provided dishwashing soap, which I felt a bit much, I didn’t end making coffee so I had nothing to wash) - it was in a nice and quiet isolated location. I could slightly hear neighbors in the same fourplex, but not enough to bother me The bad/could be improved: - Floor wasn’t vacuumed well enough; there were a couple brambles on the floor that I stepped on that were presumably left by the previous guest - Communication from the property managers was very copy/paste corporatey - I couldn’t figure out how to use the coffee machine (though that’s probably a me problem) - Gravel road up to the properties is terrible and very bumpy, though out of their control as it is a public road - An extra small table to put extra stuff would be nice"
