đĄ Other things to note â This is a true historic home, full of charm and character, which means you may notice older-home quirks that come with a property from the late 1700s. â The home sits near a main road, so you may hear some traffic at times, though the yard and grounds feel private once youâre settled in. â The beach is ~5 minute drive from the property. â Some areas on the property are reserved for caretaking and maintenance use and arenât accessible to guests.
Host was very responsive. We had a sizable snow storm on our checkout morning and Yvette offered for us to checkout late. As well as giving us updates on the plow arrival.
This house was in a great location for our extended family Christmas gathering in Deep River. There was more than enough room for 3 adult couples and 2 older children tonstay comfortably & enjoy a cosy fire in fireplace one evening.
The charming house was well furnished and well equipped. The host was responsive when there was a small issue about the backyard barbecue grill. We all enjoyed ourselves very much!
Great older house with everything you need to have a great time. Family event with 6 adults and 2 dogs enjoyed the house, the yard, and the area. Strongly recommend.
We were a group of women who needed a place to gather. This house is a wonderful house. Full of beautiful art and plants. The side porch off the living room is a fabulous place to sit in the morning. Just a great place.
This house is a reflection of the deep and impressive history of the property.
There is a variety of art and artistic styles throughout to enjoy.
A perfect place for a larger group and many local amenities nearby.
At first glance, the outside of the house looked like it needed a little care. Once we got inside we appreciated the charm and history of this home. There was plenty of room for us. Beds and furniture was comfortable. Coffee, cream, bagels and water left for us was greatly appreciated. Yvette was easy to communicate with!
If you want to experience an older historical New England home with creaky wood floors, antique door hardware and beautiful grounds, this is your place. The home has been upgraded to provide modern plumbing and wiring, but donât expect an open concept modern home with large kitchen and huge en-suite with a 1700âs exterior, because such is not style of this home. The location is close to town and highways so you can easily travel to anywhere you want on the Central Connecticut coast. Yvette, our hostess, was easy to communicate with and very gracious. If I had any caution about this property, it would be accessibility. Like most historical homes, all entries into the home requires climbing stairs, and going to the upstairs bedrooms requires negotiating narrow staircases with taller steps than modern homes. Again, this is not a criticism of the home, but just a note to advise future guests with mobility issues to be sure they check out the floor plan and access points on this home before confirming a reservation. Overall, our family enjoyed the stay and I would consider this property again if I were to make a return trip to Old Saybrook.
Lovely old home with many nooks and crannies. Lots of comfortable sitting spots, indoors and out. Two bedrooms on the ground floor for family members that might be challenged by STEEP staircases. It's a lovely, interesting old home.
The home was built in the late 1700s so had its creaks, and sqeeky doors, but all the charm in the world and they provided everything we needed for our group of 10 and 20 additional familtly that came over for and outside gathering. Everyone was very impressed and the owners were very helpful and responsive

7 of us ladies stayed at this property to celebrate a bride to be with some quality time. This house accommodated us perfectly; there was ample room for us. The close proximity to the beach was a huge plus! Yvette was also very communicative. Thank you so much, Yvette.
We hosted a family reunion at this property and it was a perfect choice, with its large level shaded yard - just right for chairs, tables, tents, and lawn games. The house was comfortable for our immediate family of eight, and one of the hotels down the road provided a discounted block of rooms for all other out of town family. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to have the same type celebration.
The property and house are wonderful and fit our group of 10 friends perfectly! It was a great place for us to gather before celebrating a dear friends wedding down the road. We loved the green house room at night and weâre able to hang outside during the day. Highly recommend!
