When you're not enjoying the heated pool and hot tub in the condos there are many other activities, both relaxing and exciting, that the harbor has to offer for people of all ages. If you're looking for something adventurous check out the water sports rentals across from the shops and restaurants. Here you will be able to rent affordable kayaks, jet skis, pedal boats, stand-up paddleboards, and more! At Helgren's Sports Fishing you can schedule a day trip or an overnight adventure to fish, whale watch, or embark on a harbor excursion. You'll be able to find everything you need for a perfect fishing trip including fuel, equipment, and more. The harbor is also home to numerous sports bars, restaurants, and cafes of all kinds to ensure your satisfaction. There are several fantastic seafood options to choose from such as Harbor Fish & Chips or Oceanside Broiler. If you prefer a more upscale experience try D'vino, a popular fusion bistro that includes a gelato café and wine bar. The harbor's inviting village setting is perfect for unwinding with a relaxing stroll through the various gift shops and boutiques where you will find stylish beachwear as well as souvenirs & gifts so you can take a little bit of paradise home with you. Just a few steps away from the condos lay a long stretch of sand perfect for beach games or volleyball. There are also various tents which offer surf lessons and surfboard rentals for more adventurous vacationers. Families will be pleased to know that this beach has several convenient features such as bathrooms, showers, and lifeguards on duty during peak seasons and hours. The shaded picnic tables and coal barbecue grills are perfect for large or small gatherings after a long day at the beach. You can also end your beach day with a short walk to the Oceanside Pier and grab a fish sandwich from the Tin Fish to enjoy on the beach. Parking on site is free for 1 vehicle per condo. Guest parking is available in the paid lots and free parking for 72 hours in the parking lot by the Crab Shack. No vehicles over 16ft allowed in the parking area at all. Tall, large and extended pickup trucks or SUV's will need to park off-site. Events held at Oceanside Harbor Beach: Western Surfing Association (WSA) Events Iron Man 70.3 Scholastic Surf Series Beach Soccer Championships Quiet Beaches: Monday - Friday of Jan, Feb, April, May, Sept. There are some events scheduled on weekends during these time so check with management. No Guest Parking on site from May until June. Only the assigned space may be used for your unit. Extra vehicles need to use paid parking lots or Free Parking area by the Crab Shack. Q. Is there parking in the complex? A. Most units have 1 assigned parking space. Day guests can park in the pay lot beside complex. Overnight guests will need to park in the 72-hour free lot 1 on the east side of the harbor. This is on a first come, first served basis. Q. What if I have an oversized vehicle? A. No vehicles over 16ft allowed on the property. Oversized vehicles need to pay for overnight parking in the camping area or in the Free Parking by the Crab Shack if available. 72 hours max. Q. What beach equipment do we need to bring? A. We suggest you bring your own beach towels, boogie boards, and umbrellas. Some of the units may have these items, but we cannot guarantee they will be available on your arrival. Q. Are pets allowed? A. We are sorry, but pets are not allowed in the rental units. Q. Is smoking allowed? A. All our units are non-smoking, including the balcony and anywhere in the complex. Q. Is there air conditioning? A. Each unit is equipped with either ceiling fans or portable fans to keep the air moving. Check in was easy. Unloading and parking are simple. Complex is gated with key fob access. Wheeled carts and elevator make access to upper floors a snap. Pool and hot tub were clean and heated. Pool area was clean and had outdoor grills for guest use. Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, and dishes. Dish soap provided. Shampoo and conditioner provided. Beach towels provided. Kids slept on couches (one couch, one sofa) rather than the pullout bed so they didn’t have to be in same bed (their choice). Lots of channels on TV. Wifi was excellent. However, there were a few issues. First—The ice maker in freezer doesn’t work and the ice tray is a solid block of ice with black mold growing on it. No way that happened overnight, it’s been ignored for months, if not longer. The water filter on frig needed replaced but after seeing mold in freezer, we went and purchased drinking water. Though property manager gave us a bag of ice, it froze solid overnight and we couldn’t get it back out of the freezer without chipping off chunks using kitchen tongs. The freezer door opens against wall which makes it hard to access freezer at all. Second—the sweep on the glass shower door is missing. So every time someone takes a shower, water puddles outside the shower door. The sweep looks like it has been missing for awhile from look of mineral buildup on glass. No bath mat was provided so we had to sacrifice bath towels to soak up the water. By the third day, we were using beach towels on floor. Third—the king bed has a weird topper on it that is really squishy over a cheap thin mattress. So if you like a normal to firm spring mattress, you won’t like this mattress. Probably should just get a new mattress. We’d definitely stay again, but really hope they take care of deferred maintenance issues. I myself own a VRBO property (Alger House Cody) and I know the little annoyances like this can really cast a shadow over my guests’ experience. ##### Melissa W. Steps from the beach, restaurants and shops within walking distance. However, The couches in the picture are not the couches that are in the unit. The pull out sofa was broke so management gave us a queen size air mattress to use for the full 7 days. ( made the already tight living space even tighter) and the king size Bed in the master was old and super uncomfortable, and they tried to make it better by adding 2 inch foam on top of the old mattress but it didn’t help with the comfort level. I was impressed they contacted me because the pool area construction was not complete and offered me a refund. I choose to stay and was told my parking spot was not going to be available, they had a spot on site for me no problems.
