Amazing Nature and views, Villa Francisca

Gorgeous 2 floors villa situated on the hills of Las Cuadrillas, in a Nature Reserve at 15 minutes from Nerja and 1 hour from Málaga. This richly planted area overlooks the Mediterranean and offers amazing landscapes and countless trekking paths. The beautiful nature beaches of El Cañuelo and Cantarrijan are just a few minutes away. The charming village of La Herradura with many shops and restaurants is at just 15 minutes.

This recently refurbished villa is totally private and exclusive, with own entrance, terraces and own private pool. It offers 3 bedrooms, 2 with double and 1 with 2 single beds, one living room, a kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Bedrooms are on the first floor. The house offers many amenities, free WiFi, dishwasher, washing machine, fireplace, large barbecue and more. Outside the terraces and the pool area offer plenty of privacy and quietness, together with amazing views over the mountains and sea. All furniture and equipment are new or very recent.

At 15km, Nerja offers countless shops, supermarkets, typical and exotic restaurants, tapas bars and all services one might wish.
The Sierra de Almijara Nature Reserve offers unlimited trekking options, from a 1 hour walk to a whole day excursion. The area is known for its rich wildlife and spectacular landscapes. A drive to the springs of Rio de la Miel and Peña Escrita reveals gorgeous mountain sceneries.
The area offers many activities: trekking, mountain bike, canoe, paddle surf, snorkeling, scuba diving, river trekking, horse riding, jeep excursions, tennis, golf at 20km and more. The region is very rich in culture, monuments and historical sites. The famous Caves of Nerja are at just 10km.

Within a half day or a day, a number of world famous landmarks can be visited: Granada and the Alhambra, Sevilla, Córdoba, Ronda, the Sierra Nevada, Almería and Gibraltar.

In short, a perfect place for a relaxing and inspiring holiday in the middle of a totally preserved natural environment.

Be aware

Would have been nice to know before booking about the very and narrow street leading to the house. It was a real challange to arrive, even for a driver used to mountain driving. If you are frightened of height, you should know about this. Unfortunately we had no warm water for 3 days, but the mechanic tried to fix the isssue very fast. The house as such is very, very beautiduö.

Villa Francisca was more beautiful than we anticipated. The outside courtyards, the pools, the design were exquisite. The road going up to the villa was frightening to us older travelers, but we finally accustomed ourselves to the single lane winding mountain road. Sitting outside, both day and night, was romantic, even for us (6) old codgers. The rooms were fine. We Americans were not adept at using the technology in the appliances; our age was at fault, but we would have appreciated a folder with instructions for appliances and for trash disposal and for hints about good restaurants and activities. All that being said, we completely enjoyed our two week stay at Villa Francisca; we didn’t want to leave when our time was up! Thank you for such a lovely stay.

Could be better

First the positives. Olaf, the agent was excellent in all respects. The outside area of the villa is superb, I would give it 5/5. The inside area is another matter. No welcome pack, agent agreed their should be one. Nasty smell in upstairs bathroom. 2nd bathroom is not advertised as downstairs but it is and this caused us some issues. The shower in this bathroom was the smallest that I have ever seen. I could only just get in and could barely move once inside. Tv not working, owner came to fix but could not get it to work, promised it would be down next day, did not happen! so no tv. No pool towels provided, this was not stated on the website, owner did bring 3 two days after arrival. No information folder about the property. Two of 5 lightbulbs in lounge not working which made it very gloomy. Bed in the largest bedroom so hard that none of us wanted to sleep in it. No mirror in our bedroom. Seating in lounge would be very unsuitable for 6 people. In all I would give the villa indoors 2.5/5. For context we have been staying in villas around the world for 25 years and this is the our 3rd such holiday this year and only twice have we given a villa such a low score. We also owned a villa in Turkey for 10 years, so have experience of what is required to provide a great experience at the right price.

Enjoy nature

We spent some beautiful days at the house, we found all we needed at home and really enjoy our time there. My kids were very happy with the space available to play, and the pool. We valued very much the orientation of the house. Although the road to arrive is a mountain road, the surroundings were great ,the presence of mountains, nature and the sea so close. Thanks for this great experience.

Alles klopt aan dit huis. Het zwembad, de locatie, het huis zelfs. We kwamen pas snachts aan en alles was goed geregeld. Al met al een top vakantie gehad!!
