"It’s a nice unique property. Staff is very helpful. The room was lovely but lots and lots of steps to get to. They did have a kind porter to help bring the luggage to the room and then all the way down to the square where the taxi was waiting to take us to our parking area. The breakfast was wonderful lots of choices. While the view of the hills is nice the location takes some time to walk to town including many many steps so be prepared."

In addition to the Sassi access and hotel cleanliness, the breakfast was truly outstanding. It featured a variety of coffees, pastries and fruits along with other breakfast items in an attractive, large dining room. The desk is attended at all times and the building is secured at night. My only mild criticism is better information on parking prior to check in would be a plus. A secured garage is under the hotel and available for $20 Euro per might. I'd stay there again, both for the hotel and the ancient attractions of Matera."

The cushions on terrace are fading from a season in the sun but apart from this fantastic. The room was serviced daily with bed changes etc. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was really good although you have to navigate some steep narrow steps up there. The view from the restaurant is brilliant."
