We were half board and the food was gorgeous. A lovely bar area with a log fire and a beautiful dining room. I would have given them a 5 on service if I didnt have to wait so long at check in. The rooms are spacious, wifi is good, as is breakfast. They have a decent selection of Ales and the food is very nice (although I did feel the need to order some extra veg with my main meal. I had the Breats of Duck). The starter portion of moules was a decent size. Car parking is secure and the location although in a quiet rural setting is fantastic for the A1 to get to Alnwick. After initial hiccup with check in, staff were really good, friendly but professional. The Cook and Barker is an amazing place, in the middle of nowhere, but close enough to Alnwick and driving distance to Holy Island etc..... staff are really friendly, breakfast is outstanding - thank you. We stayed in the suite and were blown away. They looked a bit shocked and told me I was lucky they were still there. They found me a key and After a long drive I asked if could take a drink up to room but they seemed out and only offered up a bottle of cider (presume switch fraught taps off?).
