"Very cute apartment over 3 floors with a small but fully stocked kitchen. Good air con on top 2 floors. Short steep walk (7 mins) to the top of motovun. You check in at a restaurant up the hill and one of the staff then takes you to the apartment. Free parking nearby. Only real negatives were the shower cubicle which was way too small and quite a few mozzies in the evening when drinking wine on the terrace…"

Grand Hotel Bernardin - Sava Hotels & Resorts

8/10 Good

"inside pool very small and quite occupied"

Hotel Molindrio Plava Laguna

8/10 Good

"Great hotel and perfect location for our event Ironman 70.3 Poreč! Smaller room than expected (compared to photos) but soon got used to it and we used the balcony to store the bike. Comfortable bed, with adequate storage and spacious bathroom. Daily room service to replenish towels and hotel service for extra pillows and anything else you may need. We had breakfast and dinner included - both services had a wide variety of foods at the buffet that were all delicious. They even had an earlier breakfast service provided on race day which was greatly appreciated! The chefs were there to cook fresh food to keep everything replenished, and the staff were always there to help tidy away. Me and my husband enjoyed trying out the different foods each night, specially the deserts! One thing we made use of was the sauna and wellness area which you could use for 2 hours per day. We used the Sauna and steam room a lot, specially post race. Towels, water and tea were provided. My husband also used the Gym there on the first night which we were pleasantly surprised by, lots of free weights, machines and a squat rack. One highlight for me was being able to get my hair done by the hotel hair dresser, I wanted some french plaits done for the race and she managed to squeeze me in the day before. Very reasonably priced and friendly. Overall really happy with our stay, friendly staff and great experience. Such a lovely place to stay, we would come back!"

Hotel Histrion - Sava Hotels & Resorts

10/10 Excellent

"We had a lovely stay at Hotel Histrion. Our room was clean and comfortable, and it was great to have a kettle and mini fridge provided. The only downside was that the tea and coffee weren’t restocked during our stay. Breakfast was fine, with enough choice to start the day. A high chair was also always available for our daughter, which was really convenient. Unfortunately, the indoor pool at Hotel Histrion was closed during our stay, but this didn’t matter at all as we had plenty of other options. We were able to use the outdoor swimming area at Bernardin Plaza, as well as the outdoor pool at Apartments Vila Barka, free of charge. We also had the option of using the indoor pool at Grand Hotel Bernardin, but the weather was so lovely that we much preferred being outside! The outdoor swimming area at Bernardin Plaza was fantastic and really made our stay. It was a great alternative to the closed pool and meant we could still enjoy plenty of swimming and relaxing in the sunshine! Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would happily return!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Montrin?

The best area to stay in Montrin is within the Old Town, particularly around the main square, Trg Maršala Tita.

This pedestrian-friendly area is the historic heart of Montrin, characterised by its narrow, cobbled streets and Venetian-era architecture. You'll find a delightful array of independent boutiques, art galleries, and restaurants tucked into ancient buildings. The harbourfront, lined with fishing boats and outdoor cafes, is just a short stroll away, offering lovely views and a relaxed pace.

Couples seeking a romantic getaway will find the Old Town particularly appealing. The intimate setting, with its historic charm and picturesque alleys, is great for leisurely strolls and discovering hidden gems. Many accommodations here are boutique hotels or charming apartments housed in renovated historic buildings, offering a unique and memorable stay.

Families might prefer staying slightly outside the immediate bustling centre but still within easy walking distance of the Old Town. Areas just a few streets back from the main square or along the coastal path offer a quieter environment, often with more spacious apartments or villas that include amenities like private gardens or pools.
