Maison Grinder was a perfect choice for my milestone birthday. Not only did they decorate and provide a bottle of wine and handwritten letter, but they also brought our luggage to the room (a serious benefit for a hotel with no elevator). The suite was a perfect layout for 2 parties cohabitating. The patio was a wonderful perk facing a quiet street. Breakfast was b simple but lovely and we enjoyed the presentation and consistency each day. Would highly recommend for millennials looking for a special weekend away of stairs are not an issue. Merci!

We loved our stay and would definitely come again! Staff were great, the breakfast was a nice added treat, and the room (although small) was lovely! We saw a show at the Beanfield theatre so it was in walking distance which was awesome.

The staff were super kind the room was super clean and the breakfast was the only down side I wish they had other options then just yogurt and banana bread even though it was actually very delicious so no complaints besides that love everything

The property has a very high rating but it wasn't evident anywhere that this is an unconventional property that may not suit everyone. The rooms are small, there are long flights of steep stairs to get to the rooms (there is no elevator), there is no mirror over the sink, there's late night noise from the bar/restaurant below, the thermostat could be adjusted but it didn't change the room temperature etc. Everything is well maintained and clean but lots of surprises.

We had a great stay at Maison Grinder! The room was perfect and had a cute little balcony. The front desk staff were amazing as well as the valet parking gentleman. We were very surprised with the lovely breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt and freshly baked banana bread which was included. Great location and short walk to the Bell Centre. Had a great sleep on the comfy king sized bed. Thank you Maison Grinder! We will be back!

This hotel is stunning! Beautifully designed in a moody aesthetic. The bed, pillows, and bedding (fluffy duvet) are the most comfortable I've ever had in a hotel! Front desk service is great. The neighbourhood vibe is fun with lots of great cafes, bars/restaurants just outside. It's also walkable to many spots, including Bell Centre, Place Ville Marie, etc. The only cons that may not work for everyone are the open concept shower (no privacy) and the entrance has a steep staircase without an elevator.

Loved the ambience of the hotel but they should warn visitors of a few things. The rooms were small but elegant but to get there you had to climb 20 steps with your luggage to get to lobby. The young girls did offer to help with the luggage but I had trouble letting them do it. Our room was very nice but we wondered why they had earplugs in the room, we found out at10pm when the techno music started and went until 12:30. Same company owns hotel and restaurant but must make more money at bar than hotel. The roof top deck was spectacular but no service provided. Breakfast was brought to the room and was promptly delivered and very good. Beware if you have trouble with steps as top floor is 50 steps up.

The room was clean , and had all the necessary amenities . The room on the main floor beside the front desk is very poorly sound proofed , so we were able to hear everyone coming in and out , but helped to have the speaker on in the room . We are a little bit disappointed with our stay. The first 2 nights were great. The breakfast was amazing. The second two nights the banana bread was chewy and not good. On our last day I had called that morning to ask about our breakfast for our check out date as we left 4 am. Somebody had mentioned that they would look into it & get back but nobody did. At around 10:30 ish we went to lobby to ask and the lady that was on duty that day and she did not want to help us. She said they had no containers. Then I asked if they could put it in a to go coffee cup as I know they had that but she said I would have to use four cups to do that. She made it seem like that was too much for her to do. If it takes that many cups then it takes that many cups. We feel like we paid premium hotel price only to not receive what we paid for. At around 11:30-2 am it was extremely loud with music and banging noises, there is no body to complain too after 11pm. Idk if it came from others in the hotel or outside but we did not sleep and had to go to the airport sleep deprived. We are very disappointed with our last two days. There is not much amenities besides the roof top which we did not use due to weather and a restaurant that has barely to no food for vegetarians. The rooms are extremely small but beautiful.

This is a unique, beautifully appointed hotel whose staff is lovely but not available 24 hours, as I learned the hard way when I could not get my key to open the front door after a night out at a concert. Plan accordingly!

This is a great boutique option for those looking for a more authentic Montreal experience. Griffintown has a lot of great cafes and restaurants, all a very short walk from the hotel. The canal being nearby is also a nice plus. Easy to walk downtown and to the metro. The hotel itself has cozy, curated atmosphere from the lobby to the rooms. The rooftop patio is also a nice plus.
