Turners Falls has a lot to offer the convenience of being close to shops and restaurants. It is close to hiking and bike trails along the Connecticut River. It is a second and third floor combined apartment. It is older, but clean, and very homey. The stairs up to the apartment are a little difficult to navigate so be aware of that, but there is a back entrance up the deck stairs that were much easier. We had a small blip with the smoke detector and James was very responsive in getting that taken care of for us. Our stay made it easy to access the shops and restaurants we needed to go to. Although the main spaces of the living area were clean (living room, bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, tubs, showers, toilets, sinks, couch, and beds), we were surprised to see some dust accumulated throughout the unit (on lamps, light fixtures and overhead fans, as well as box fans in the bedrooms) and having to clean the tea kettle and some dishes and glasses before use. We would have given this a 5/5 star stay if we felt the small effort it takes to dust and check the clean dinnerware were taken. Probably just an oversight by their cleaning service, as the rest of the property was clean and well maintained. Please be prepared to carry your luggage up the steep stairs to the unit.
