Set on 10 mostly flat, walkable acres with approximately 1,200 feet of Hemptown Creek frontage and a private pond, this peaceful mountain cabin feels wonderfully removed from the rush of everyday life — yet it’s less than 13 minutes from Downtown Blue Ridge. You get the best of both worlds: privacy, space, and quiet, with dining, shopping, and attractions just a short drive away. Here, mornings begin with coffee on the screened porch, listening to the creek and watching the woods come to life. Summer evenings glow with fireflies, days are spent skipping stones on the pond, fishing along the creek, or reading a book in a hammock under the trees. As the sun sets, gather around the fire pit for s’mores, soak in the hot tub under the stars, and enjoy nights that feel unrushed and easy. Blue Bird is about simple pleasures and meaningful moments — the kind that don’t need much more than fresh air, good company, and time together. Dogs must be on flea/tick prevention, kept off furniture, cleaned before entry, and supervised outdoors. Property is not fenced. • No smoking, fireworks, firearms, ATVs, dirt bikes, or driving on grass or fields • Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM • Outdoor amenities (hot tub, creek, pond, fire pit, hammocks) are used at guest’s own risk. Children must be supervised at all times. • Starter supplies are provided as a courtesy and are not replenished. Trash must be bagged and secured due to wildlife. • Exterior security cameras with audio/video recording are in use. No interior cameras. Mountain Access Note Four-wheel drive is not typically required to access the property. However, during winter months or inclement weather, road conditions can change quickly. In the event of snow or ice, we strongly recommend traveling with AWD or 4WD and using appropriate caution. Rental Agreement Booking confirms agreement to the full Rental Agreement, including payment terms, cancellations, occupancy requirements, pet policies, damage protection, weather considerations, and liability. They even provide a bed and dishes for the pups. My dog had a great time running around the property. She’s older and acted like a young pup. Even got to chase a rabbit. Coming from South Fl, it may be the first she ever saw. Check in was easy, the cabin was very nice and the fireplace is the best. Blue Ridge is close by and seems like a good choice for meals and entertainment but I was interested in solitude and some fly fishing and got lots of both. Impending ice storm caused us to leave a half day early, but I will definitely try and get back for some quality peace and quiet. It is beyond dog friendly. The acres are mowed down so there was so much space for our dogs to run. I swear I haven’t seen them that happy and exhausted after each night, ever. We’re so grateful to have taken this trip. My dogs particularly loved swimming in the creek even if it was 30 degrees out. We loved being able to hear the creek in the background, it was so relaxing and beautiful. One thing I’d like to add as it’s not always the case, but the beds were actually very comfortable. Ample porch sitting and inviting atmosphere, even for the dog. Kitchen had staples needed to prepare and enjoy family meals. The outdoor sitting area for campfires was inviting.The platform at the creek wasn't there to sit and enjoy creek side sitting or fishing. I guess it was knocked off to the side, this made it harder to access the flat land shown in pictures. The pond was a nice walk to get to. There was one day in which the mowers came and spent half the day working which one woke guests and two was slightly annoying; just felt this should have been communicated ahead of time, we could have arranged a day out that day. We loved the simplicity of the cabin surrounded by 10 acres of woods and fields plus the peaceful creek running the length of the property. Our pups absolutely loved it and they were tuckered out every night after walking around and sniffing the property. We saw ample deer and birds around as well. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We have been to Blue Ridge multiple times and we both agreed this will be the place we will always return to! The owner was very communicative to us about the roads (during a few snow days) and checked in with us throughout the trip. She responded fast and made it super easy. The house and land is beautiful.
