"Overall we loved it, though it would have been good to know that you can't drive to the hotel if you don't have a proper 4WD as it is located at the end of a long and steep tarished road. Luckily the hotel offers an transport service for the dirty road between 8am and 5pm. They also offer food(preorder only) and drinks at the bar. The staff was very nice and always helpful. Our favourite was the weekday driver. The cottage had a very nice kitchen unfortunately not much utensils in it... Being so...

"We had a great week at Elaine’s. Very responsive to communication. The gated property is perfectly located in a quiet area in west central Dominica. The space is more than adequate with a full kitchen, dining room, living room with plenty of comfortable seating area and large TV, bedroom, and bathroom. Also has a washer and dryer which were a plus. The view from the balcony is outstanding. We are in and out of Dominica a few times per year. Hopefully, Elaine’s will be available next time. Don’t hesitate to book this one. "

"Ft Young is always my go to when visiting the island. That being said if you are in the older part of the hotel, getting your luggage around is a challenge as the elevator does not get you to all areas, HOWEVER there is always friendly staff to lend a hand. I was disappointed not to get a room in the new, deluxe part of the hotel. Not sure how I go about getting one. Overall I am pleased with my stay. I would say that service has improved over the years. Helpful, friendly staff"
