### Casa Skylarkin, Moroccan wonder in Merida Centro

Perfectly nestled between La Ermita and Parque de San Juan, Casa Skylarkin is the ideal choice for your visit to Merida. The great room has two separate seating areas and a chef’s kitchen which flows seamlessly into the pool and patio area. With 4 bedrooms (each with a bath ensuite), and two single bed/sofas located in the main living area, Casa Skylarkin can host large groups comfortably. For those worried about climbing stairs, three of the bedrooms are downstairs, and only one is upstairs.  
  
Recently renovated and modernized, Casa Skylarkin was designed and decorated with dramatic and vibrant Moroccan touches throughout, and has an exotic feel. Air conditioning is available in all bedrooms and the living space. The house has an open and light feel, with double high glass doors separating the main living area from the pool and patio area.  
  
Casa Skylarkin is conveniently located only 2 blocks from La Ermita square and 5 blocks from the main square and Cathedral. La Ermita is a quieter neighborhood with some cobblestone roads and the square was originally the beginning of the royal road to Campeche. The church, Our Lady of Good Travel or Santa Isabel, dates from 1748\. The zone comes alive each year around the Day of the Dead, which makes Casa Skylarkin the perfect place for experiencing this holiday.  
  
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need if you want to cook. Purified water is provided, as well as coffee. The refrigerator has ice made from purified water as well. We provide you with basic kitchen equipment and appliances including a toaster and coffee machine so that you can fuel up with a satisfying breakfast to start your day. Coffee, creamer and sugar is provided -- no need to run to the nearest mini-mart for these basics.  
  
High speed wifi is available throughout the house. And the home is equipped with everything you need to relax and enjoy your vacation. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are all provided.

Check in is available after 3pm. Check out is before 11am.   
  
Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability at the sole discretion of the host.  
  
Early check-in availability is determined on the day of arrival and is a free courtesy to our guests.  
  
If you need a late check-out, then we might be able to permit it depending on the needs of our next guest, but we will charge a late check-out fee.  
  
General Rules:  
  
1\. To book this space, you must be at least 21 years of age.  
  
2\. The name on the reservation must match the person staying in the house. To verify, we may require a photo of ID of all people entering the property.  
  
3\. Quiet hours are observed from 10pm to 8am on the interior and exterior of the property. The purpose of quiet hours is to maintain a quiet and comfortable environment for all guests and neighbors.  
  
4\. No smoking inside the space. If a guest is found smoking or evidence of smoking is found after check-out there is a $500 USD fine.  
You may smoke on the exterior patios granted you use the provided ash trays.  
  
5\. Please only flush toilet paper down the toilet.  
  
6\. An excessive cleaning fee of a minimum of $75 USD will apply to any reservation which caused excessive cleaning services to be rendered.  
  
7\. Guests are responsible for any breakage or damage to the property.  
  
Fees:  
  
\- The fee for overnight visitors above a total of 8 guests is $300 pesos per person per night. Any additional guests require prior approval from the host.  
  
\- One small (under 15kg) pet is welcome, but the guest is responsible for all damage caused by their pets. An extra pet fee of USD$75 will be charged.  
  
\- Electricity is included for stays of 2 weeks or less; and for stays of longer than 2 weeks, no electricity is charged unless the usage greater is USD$3 a day for the 1BR or 2BR homes, or USD$5 a day for the larger homes.  
  
\- Lost key or electric key fob will result in a US$20 charge.  
  
\- We are not responsible for any left items after check-out. If we do have to ship an item, there is a minimum of $50 (depending on the size of the items) shipping fee by host plus the shipping company cost to ship the item. It may take up to 14 days before we can ship the items.  
  
Additional notes:  
  
In order to keep the pool clean and maintained during your stay and for future guests, our pool staff is scheduled to service the pool twice per week. The total service should take 30 minutes to 1 hour.  
  
Merida is a hot and humid climate, and this climate tends to host insects. As a result, you may see insects in the house. We do monthly extermination to try to prevent problems but it's not a perfect solution. We also supply bug spray and citronella candles to assist.  
  
We are not responsible for any items brought into or left at the house. If you believe that you left something in the house after your departure, then please let us know. We will verify whether we have the item and share our office address so that you may pick it up. We will store any such items in our ‘Lost and Found’ located in our office for 30 days. If no one has come to claim those items within the 30 days, then we will dispose of it.  
  
Furniture and décor from pictures may differ. We are always upgrading and improving the look and feel of our property for the comfort and pleasure of our guests.

Casa Skylarkin was a great place to stay while exploring Merida. It's in the Southern part of Merida Centro about a 15 minute walk to Plaza Grande and Mercado San Benito. Our hosts were helpful and responsive and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. They helped arrange restaurant reservations and excursions to cenotes and Uxmal.When we had an issue with one AC that they took care of the same day while we were out.The place itself was beautiful, clean, and a delight. I highly recommend Casa Skylarkin.

Casa Skylarkin is a gem. We left the noise and chaos of the city streets behind the moment we opened the door to this paradisical oasis. The interior decor gave us daily delight with its carefully curated colors and comfortable seating areas. We were touched by the special considerations of our hosts who communicated with us to make sure we had all of our desires met. Highly recommend!

Everything about this house was perfect! So much thought and consideration went into it The space, the bedding, the kitchen. There was a huge can of Kirkland coffee and huge supply of filtered water, electric outlets everywhere. I saw blowdryers in 2 bathrooms and assume the other 2 had them. The pool was so wonderful in the 95 degrees The hosts were completely available and responsive. And kind Highly recommend

The host was very responsive. The house was excellent and very clean. We found everything that we needed. Nice touch to have the coffee and the beer waiting for us. The cleaning staff was very attentive and house was very clean. The full area was also cleaned when needed.

Very lovely, well decorated and designed, spacious apartment at the edge of the busy Centro area. Our family of six enjoyed it very much and had room to spread out. The apartment was very quiet and well-equipped -- there was actually nothing we needed and didn't have for a full one week stay. Be aware that one (nice) bedroom is at the top of a narrow, spiral staircase. The bedroom has a nice view of the courtyard and a terrace that looks out over the rooftops and up at the stars. There are two interior bedrooms with small skylights and two sizable bedrooms that open to the courtyard with pool. The pool is unheated so best for hot weather. The kitchen and common areas are lovely and comfortable. The walk to most restaurants and shops was about 20 minutes. Uber rights are only a few minutes, reliable, and extremely inexpensive. Buses are frequent and clean/comfortable. The city bustles in the evenings. We had zero safety issues, even when walking long distances at night. People were uniformly friendly, helpful and tolerant of poor Spanish. Our day tours to Uxmal, a cenote, Celestun (flamingos), and the beach were excellent. The guides book through Viator were superb and trips were well-run.

The house is beautiful. You have an excellent staff who can and cleaned mid week and groomed the landscaping by the pool and cleaned the pool. My daughter in law sprained her ankle and she was in the house when the cleaning crew came. She was very impressed. We had no issues. We loved Merida. My daughter in laws family is from San Luis Potosí and she is continuing on visiting with family. Our grandsons loved the pool! Everyday.

#### Fantastic home for a lovely family time

We loved the house and the location close to Centro. Everything was very clean and in great condition. Very comfortable beds, 4 bathrooms which is fantastic with teenagers. We loved coming home to the pool after a day of exploring. There’s so many trips to take from Merida that are about an hour away, cenotes and mayan sites. Our stay felt luxurious and we highly recommend it.

#### Nice place in central Mérida

The apartment was more or less as listed. It was about a 20 minute walk to the main square. The pool was somewhat cloudy, so we didn’t make use of it. Also, the place is kind of divided into two halves; on one side of the pool there are two bedrooms, with the rest of the property on the other side of the pool. The pool is outdoors. On the side with two bedrooms, the upstairs bedroom requires climbing a steep and narrow spiral staircase outdoors, so that was a bit of a “surprise.” Communication with the property management was easy and very friendly. The apartment was clean and well equipped. There is a wonderful cafe around the corner called cafe Lavé.

Casa Skylarkin is an architectural jewel with splendid decor and comfortable beds. The casa is well-supplied, and concierge team, Burro y Flauta, respond immediately to all questions and concerns, from site-seeing arrangements to fresh water supply. Merida itself is a wonder, with glorious art and superb food. Fabulous, fabulous people and accommodations.

It is impossible for me to put into words exactly how exceptional Casa Skylarkin and the Burro y Flauta team are. Skylarkin is exactly as described. It truly is a beautiful and peaceful sanctuary. My grandchildren, my daughter and I could not have loved it more! And now to the team. Beto, Yaatza and Becca were beyond caring, responsive and helpful during our stay. I cannot overstate what a difference they made to our visit. And the cleaning team is amazing in their ability to make everything shine! #### At home in Casa Skylarkin

The property was lovely. It was the perfect launchpad to explore Merida. The landscaping is enchanting. I was captivated by the bougainvillea in the courtyard. The lighting situation in the home was soft and welcoming. The hosts were so responsive that I had a hard time keeping up. I would recommend this property to anyone (English speakers don't be shy!) This rental is just beautiful. Thank god for the pool and air conditioning as the humidity was horrible. Just a few blocks to several convenience stores. Very clean with so many services including grocery purchase/delivery service. Beds a little hard for my liking but not bad. Stove is tricky and needs pilot lot for use…including stove. Would happily stay again.
