"The spa, gym, and lake views are excellent. The hotel has a very 90's feel and no room service (this was a bummer as we had a lake view room and wanted to stay in and relax). The beirgarten by the water has excellent food, although it closes at 930pm (as does the only restaurant on site (a buffet). The place was comfortable for 1 dayx the lake location and sauna were exactly what we wanted"

Promenaden Hotel
Gera
8.4 out of 10, Very good, (23 reviews)
"This is a beautiful old hotel property. It has great bones and the rooms have been updated and modernized nicely. That said, there are some very quirky aspects to the property. Firstly, there is no reception - just an automated machine that provides a key card. This means that there is no one to ask about parking, amenities etc. The second thing is that no one speaks English at all. The cleaning staff was very sweet but could not speak a word. We had to use Google Translate for all...

Top Mehla Hotel Reviews

Hotel Schloss Schweinsburg

Hotel Schloss Schweinsburg

10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful hotel set in nice grounds. The main building used to be a palace. We were allocated a room in the adjoining building. When we first arrived, we were told that they were full, despite us having booked in advance. But this was soon sorted out. Our room was clean and tidy and spacious. It had a slanted ceiling right above the bed, so we had to be careful getting in and out. The wifi was not very strong in the room but luckily we did not really need it for anything special. The restaurant offered a buffet or the a la carte menu. The buffet looked a bit lacking so we chose the menu and the food was excellent. We can highly recommend the pork schnitzel and the salmon. Parking free and on site. All in all, a lovely place to stay."

What is the best area to stay in Mehla?
The best area to stay in Mehla is the town centre, particularly around Marktstraße and the area near the St. Vitus Church.

This central part of Mehla offers a well-connected base for exploring. It's where you'll find a selection of local shops, eateries, and access to public transport links. The historic St. Vitus Church is a prominent landmark, and the streets around it retain a traditional German town character.

For couples looking for a relaxing break, staying in the town centre provides easy access to pleasant walks along the River Mehla, which flows nearby. You can enjoy strolls through the town's parks and visit local cafes without needing to travel far.

Families will also find the town centre convenient.
When is the best time to go to Mehla?
