The whole experience was great, from the warm welcome, the superbly comfortable room to the delicious breakfasts. Hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was first class, all the produce was of good quality and nicely prepared/presented. Bedroom was very comfortable and clean, bathroom was excellent with choice of bath (after a long day walking) and shower for wake me up after good nights sleep. Car park is secure behind electrically operated gates. Like some others who have reviewd room 2, we found the wash water tepid at best. Loss of sleep due to the noise from quarry lorries which start at 4 o'clock in the morning and the motorbikes on this busy road junction spoiled our stay. That said, we could not praise our hosts enough for thier generosity and willingness to please. A brilliant B&B ideally situated to the many attractions of the area. Very comfortable and welcoming. Stayed there because of history and name interested me. On a very noisy corner with a lot of early morning truck traffic. Narrow stairs makes luggage a bit of a challenge for a senior.
