The hostal is 2 minutes walk from the largest square in Madrid, and is ideally situated to view all of the citys main sites. There us a supermarket across plaz de la Cruz, a corner cafe and Starbucks next door. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and whilst there is a drinks vending machine in the hostal, they will happily lend you a kettle so you can make a drink in your room. Our room was cleaned daily, and I would be happy to stay there again.

Perfect for a weekend in Madrid.

Perfect for a weekend break. Excellent location right next to Plaza Mayor. Rooms can be noisy at times, but to be expected in middle of a city. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Would definitely stay again in future.

Good place to stay for it's location and price. Staff was friendly. Place was old, room was small. No elevator and we need to lift our luggage up to fourth floor (Europe level 3).

Even though the room was in the small side it is extremely clean. Like very clean. Some of the towels were a little crusty perhaps needs some softeners. But bedding smelled fresh and clean all the time. We love that it is steps from everything major i.e. Plaza Major; Puerto del Sol; Gran Via; Mercado de San Miguel. Easy access to Metro and Renfe trains. Lots of restaurants all over the place. A Carrefour Express in the Square across from the hotel. Of course lots of American fast foods nearby. Will definitely stay here again. Oh and love the mini glass enclosed balcony in our room.

Cannot beat location for Hostal Cruz Sol--right around the corner from Plaza Mayor. Rooms were simple, clean, comfy beds, all we needed. Elevator in building. Staff was great--made arrangements for early morning taxi pickups for us. Answered my emails promptly. Easy walking to everywhere we wanted to go. Would definitely stay here again!

The room was very clean. It was also very small. The bathroom was also quite small. It is very centrally located and was a great location for walking the city. It felt more like a hostel as but all the rooms were individual. Cleaning staff came around regularly. If you are only looking for a place to sleep it was great. The square outside only had a couple of small cafes so we didn't hear the late night noise that Madrid is famous for.

Todella keskeisellä sijainnilla, mutta silti ulkoa ei kuulunut juurikaan ääniä. Sijainti tosiaan hyvä ja huone pieni mutta viihtyisä. Ainoa miinus oli yöllä koettu tilanne, jossa hotellille palatessa avainkortti ei toiminutkaan ulko-oveen. Palvelunumeroon ei vastattu ja hetken aikaa näytti siltä, että emme pääse majoitukseen ollenkaan. Onneksi samassa rakennuksessa asuu ihmisiä joilla on fyysiset avaimet ja eräs asukas sattui tulemaan kotiinsa ja päästi meidät sisään.
