Home Sweet Home—romantic, cozy, and furnished with attention to every detail.
Recently renovated in the Tuscan style while preserving its authenticity and uniqueness.
The atmosphere you feel when staying here is warm and welcoming.
Local materials were used for the renovation; for the kitchen, we used Carrara marble, the walls are made of river stone, the ceiling beams are chestnut from our mountains, and the floors feature old, handmade terracotta tiles (mezzane).
Casa dolce Casa is equipped with all the comforts of home: a spacious kitchen-dining area with a traditional Italian wood-fired oven for baking delicious bread and pizzas with the unmistakable aroma and flavour of wood-fired pizza. The built-in kitchen, which I designed and planned myself, is equipped with everything you need: a marble sink, a stovetop, and a countertop; a dining table for 6 people; a pantry; a sideboard; an electric oven; a microwave; a kettle; a toaster; utensils, dishes, cookware, a moka pot for coffee, cleaning supplies, a refrigerator, a freezer, a vacuum cleaner, a hair dryer, a washing machine, and a clothesline.
The living room features furnishings that are both refined and practical... For relaxation, there’s a three-seater sofa in sage green that converts into a very comfortable double bed when needed,
a smaller reading sofa with colourful floral patterns,
an antique, restored bookcase filled with magazines and books of all kinds, a flat-screen smart TV, satellite channels, Wi-Fi, Netflix, and air conditioning.
The first master bedroom, harmonious and romantic, features a standard-size wrought-iron double bed, a restored early 20th-century wardrobe, and other elegant details that lend the space a sense of serenity and warmth for restful sleep, along with air conditioning.
The second bedroom is modern and vibrant, designed with younger guests in mind. Slightly smaller in size, it features a French-style double bed, a wardrobe, nightstands, and plenty of board games to enjoy when you decide to stay in and treat yourself to a moment of relaxation and pure fun.
The bathroom is spacious, tiled with intentionally aged handmade ceramic tiles, featuring a very large shower and Art Nouveau-style fixtures.
The exterior of the house features a private courtyard equipped with a table, chairs, a beach umbrella, and—best of all—a fantastic built-in barbecue that can be fired with wood or charcoal for cooking an excellent Florentine steak!!
The entire 80-square-meter semi-detached home is located entirely on the first floor (no steps).
Separate entrance for greater privacy, air conditioning for summer and heating for winter, Wi-Fi, mosquito screens, and safety railings on doors and windows; up to 3 bicycles available free of charge (just a security deposit, which will be refunded upon checkout).
Free public parking along the street but right next to the property’s entrance gate; the area is very quiet, even at night.
500 metres from a bus stop with direct service to the city every hour (travel time: 3 minutes)
800 metres from the train station; you can purchase tickets through the Treni Italia website and travel to various destinations in Tuscany and beyond...
Strategic location!!
CASA DOLCE CASA has an excellent location!!! You can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside while still being close to the city—a quiet, flat area just 3 km from the historic city walls of Lucca, a 3-minute drive or a 15-minute bike ride.
Also just 3 km away are some beautiful 17th-century villas with fairy-tale gardens worth visiting (Villa Reale, Villa Grabao, Villa La Badiola and its winery, Villa Torrigiani, Villa Mansi, Villa Brughier—admission requires a paid ticket)
If you’d like to get some exercise, there are tennis courts 200 metres away that are also open at night (for a fee); tennis rackets and balls for two people are available free of charge with a deposit.
There are bars, restaurants, and supermarkets nearby.
Another beautiful attraction in the area, close to Casa dolce Casa, is the River Park, just 700 metres away. As if by magic, you’ll find yourself immersed in nature, far from the noise—a great place for walks, hiking, cycling, and in some areas along the river, you can stop to relax or go canoeing (for a fee).
Casa dolce Casa is ideally located (about 25 km) for trips to the beach in Viareggio, Lido di Camaiore, Marina di Pietrasanta, and Forte dei Marmi.
It’s also an excellent base for mountain excursions to the Apuan Alps, which are a 30–50-minute drive away, depending on your destination. In winter, you can go skiing in Abetone, about a 60-minute drive away.
And to visit the most famous medieval villages in the Lucca area and beyond... Montecarlo di Lucca and its wineries (wine testings available for a fee by reservation), Bagni di Lucca, Castelnuovo Garfagnana, Pietrasanta—an enchanting village famous for its countless open-air art galleries, Montecatini Alto, with a breathtaking view of the Montecatini thermal baths—about a 30- to 50-minute drive.
Casa dolce Casa is an excellent, central starting point for visiting other cities in Tuscany. Florence, Siena, Pisa, and Livorno. From Livorno, take a day trip to the Island of Elba—it’s worth the boat ride just to dive into the crystal-clear waters!
