Spacious Log Cabin with Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Large Decks & Wood Fireplace

Welcome to Cardinal Cabin – a peaceful, three-story retreat tucked into the woods, offering comfort, seclusion, and easy access to both Hocking Hills and Wayne National Forest.

With two full bathrooms and three separate sleeping areas, the cabin is ideal for families or small groups. The main floor includes a private queen bedroom; the open loft features a king-size bed and twin bed; and the newly finished basement offers a bunk bed (twin over full) and a sleeper sofa, along with a second cozy living space.

The main living area includes vaulted ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, and an open layout leading into a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The lower level also features a wet bar and mini fridge. Wi-Fi is available throughout the cabin, making it easy to stay connected if needed.

Step outside to enjoy the 6-person hot tub on the upper deck, overlooking a private, wooded hillside. A 4-burner Blackstone griddle and outdoor fire ring make it easy to enjoy meals and evenings outdoors.

Need-to-Know Info:

The cabin is located on a gravel road that's a little bumpy and slightly steep in spots, but it’s well-traveled and manageable for most vehicles. During winter weather, AWD or 4WD might be helpful, though professional snow removal is provided.

The cabin uses well water. It’s safe to drink, but if you’re sensitive to the taste, you may want to bring bottled water. A refrigerator filtration system is also in place.

Cell service is generally good for AT&T and T-Mobile, and fair for Verizon, though occasional dropped calls can occur in the area.

Less than 5 minutes from parts of Wayne National Forest, and just 20 minutes from Old Man’s Cave and the Hocking Hills trail system, Cardinal Cabin offers the perfect blend of natural beauty and modern comfort.

Pet Policy: Up to 2 dogs allowed (some restrictions may apply). A $100 pet fee applies. No charge for service animals with valid documentation.

Very clean and peaceful cabin in a quiet location. Owner responded promptly to any questions we had during our stay and about the area. The long stone road over hills to get there was a little tricky to navigate if not an experienced driver.

Cabin getaway

Had a fun stay with some friends and explored and hiked a lot The area and the cabin was beautiful and very calming. The caves were a cool site to see! Wish the cabin had Wi-Fi though and some signal but other than that it was nice.

The whole cabin was nice and definitely needed the relaxation with the fire and the hot tub. We enjoyed grilling out in the morning and evening as well. Old man’s cave is close by and it was also so much fun to visit. Definitely recommend.

We had a few issues but the property manager handled them quickly. My friends and I enjoyed the cabin and the hot tub. It rained all weekend so no campfire. Cute cabin for a girls getaway!

Relaxing and Peaceful

The cabin was beautiful.Meticuliously kept and fresh clean smelling. Close to Hocking Hills, Ash Cave, and Old Man's Cave. Excellent hiking area. Much more to see and do close by, but chose to enjoy the hot tub and fire place. Owner- manager was very accommodating and pleasant. One of the best vacation cabins we've stayed at; and we've stayed at many over the years!

Perfect family trip

We had a great time at the Cardinal cabin. It is located in a remote area, so quiet and beautiful. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows at the fire pit, looking at the stars late at night and sitting in the hot tub. There was plenty of space for our family of 6- spacious but still had a cozy cabin feel. We appreciated the board games and outdoor games which made for good family fun. The cabin is not too far from I great hiking spots in the Hocking Hills area. We enjoyed it so much we are thinking of coming back to see the area at a different time of year.

Secluded Summer Getaway

Private and secluded cabin. Clean. Nice sized hot tub and Blackstone. Lawn chairs are available so you don’t have to pack them. Close to Hocking Hills State Park. Owner was contacted for hot tub directions, quick response. Had Verizon for phone service provider. Was able to check emails, text and make calls from inside and outside of the cabin. Overall, we had a great stay. No complaints.

Relaxing Stay

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay. The hot tub felt wonderful after a day of hiking. We had plenty of room to spread out if we wanted, and a big table with enough seating for meals and board games. My girls loved reading and napping in the swings outside and I loved having my coffee every morning on the upper deck while listening to the sounds of nature. We had everything we needed to grill meals. We loved the Blackstone so much we may get one ourselves! The cable went out and the owner came right out to help and gave great feedback on where to hike. We would definitely recommend if you want a quiet retreat in the woods!

Few differences

It was a nice cabin, remote but peaceful. The drive up the road was definitely tricky and cell service is spotty throughout the area so print your directions. The cabin has a black stone, not a grill like we were expecting, or we would have changed our plans for what to cook. If you are bringing a pet make sure to bring a crate, did not find this out till reading the welcome binder. Overall was a good place for our visit to the area

perfect fall weekend

Our family booked this nice cabin for a weekend together. We cooked all our meals in and were very impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked as far as cookware, cutlery, etc. Heads up: no dishwasher. We loved the wood burning fireplace in the main living area which got used nightly. Firepit in the back was also so nice. Beds were very comfortable. Plenty of extra blankets. Bathroom on the main floor was quite small, but worked well for us. I think the cabin could do with better lighting overall, but that didn't deter us from completely enjoying our stay. 10/10 would stay again.

Perfect place to relax!

Perfect place for our family of 7 to spread out or hang out together (5 adults and 2 teens). The driveway was slightly daunting, but worth it for the privacy and beautiful view! As warned, Verizon doesn’t have service at the cabin and you quickly realize how many apps you rely on (weather, banking, maps, etc), but the phone (hot spot) at the cabin worked until we went into The Coffee Emporium in Logan (highly recommend, pet friendly ). The major hiking parks are about a 20 min drive. We drove an hour to Chillicothe to see the Tecumseh drama and it was well worth it.

Incredible accommodations, dreamy location, beautiful cabin, could go on and on!

We drove down from Columbus to escape to a cabin for Christmas due to a long year full of sacrifice and hard work that we are happy to put behind us! The booking was simple, the directions to the cabin were thorough and straight forward as was the check in process. The cabin was much larger than I anticipated with tons of room to play and stretch out and explore! The weather was beautiful and the property was perfect to have a fire and hike around! There was a spacious hot tub and lots of porch space! The cabin had everything we needed to make each meal at home (based on what was listed ahead of time, we also brought our own stuff) which was so nice. Every room was clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable. I can’t say enough good things! The host was responsive when I had questions and the hot spot provided to make up for lack of cell service was really helpful. We had an absolute blast and a Christmas vacation we will remember forever!! Thank you so much. We will absolutely be recommending to our friends and hopefully booking again in the future!
