This cottage is charming, intimate and well decorated for a comfortable beach experience. It features exposed wood beams on both floors, some exposed brick and white walls in common areas, giving it the feel of an intimate cottage retreat. This property also features intimate outdoor living spaces including a spacious deck, running the length of the home facing 209A Midland with privacy fencing and lots of room for grilling, eating, entertaining and hanging towels, storing chairs, kayaks and SUPs. The home features a second raised porch at the side entrance, above which there is a sun room with windows on three sides accessible to the two outside decks from a charming spiral staircase. The outdoor areas are decorated with umbrellas and pillows in vibrant beach blues and turquoise for comfortable outdoor living. Landscaped yard includes mature pine trees that offer additional privacy. This home is situated on a private back lot off Midland Avenue, the desirable first cross street on Lewes Beach rendering it the closest street to the Dairy Queen, East of Maui, downtown historic Lewes and Cape Henlopen State Park which offers bike trails and access to the ocean. Access to off street parking is through the alley with private and quiet entrance to home a few steps away. Additional street parking is also available on Midland Ave with a private, landscaped path leading from the back unit to the street. Trash receptacles for both units are on Midland Ave. An outdoor shower is located at back of this house supplementing two full indoor bathrooms. Dog Friendly with non-refundable fee and signed addendum (1 dog allowed unless previous approval from owner) Ask your agent for details All guests must supply their own sheets, towels and beach towels or OPT in for our linen rental package. Friday to Friday rental Guests must choose to purchase a $70 Vacation Rental Damage Insurance policy covering $3,000.00 in accidental damage, or pay a refundable security deposit of $2,000.00\. Policies of a lesser amount are not acceptable. This amount will not be reflected in the quote amount on VRBO. The property must be occupied for the entire rental period by the Guest signing the Lodging Agreement (Responsible Guest), and all occupants of the Property shall be supervised by the Responsible Guest. The Responsible Guest must be at least 25 years of age. If the party is made up of unrelated individuals (a group rental where the Responsible Guest is NOT the legal guardian/parent of any other guests), ALL guests occupying the property must be at least 25 years of age. Washer didn’t work was told upon arrival and no one ever called ir came by to repair. Mail ceiling light in kitchen was not functional. When sitting on the couch everyone was getting bite marks — most likely the couch has fleas. Pet friendly home however, the cleaning service didn’t do a good job on removing pet hair in couch, behind furniture and under beds. ##### Kim G. Séjour de 7 nuits en août 2023 ### 2/10 – Terrible #### Sarah R. 9 oct. 2020 Points faibles : Propreté #### Avoid under all circumstances Lewes Beach itself is wonderful, but this property was terrible. It was one of the dirtiest places I have ever stayed. There were ants all over the kitchen, nothing had been swept or cleaned prior to our arrival. Multiple ACs were broken. During the stay, I had told the property manager about the issues. I then was expected to wait in the house for the exterminator to come, as well as the handyman for the AC (who was upset that I asked him to keep his mask on). The kicker was when I asked if there was a vacuum in the house - there was not and they went to buy one. Then someone dropped an unopened vacuum on the porch with the expectation that I needed to put it together (which I couldn’t because it needed a screwdriver). Upon leaving, I had contacted the property management multiple times with no response. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!! ##### Sarah R. ### 4/10 – Médiocre #### briefcase s. 31 août 2020 #### Dumpy, dirty, and the dryer might catch fire! This property is a dump. The photos DO NOT match the actual furniture. There is not central air, instead each room has a junky window unit air conditioner. One bedroom air unit didn’t work, making that bedroom useless. The kitchen faucet leaks. The grill propane was empty, which was bad luck, but still annoying. The real kicker is that the electric dryer almost caught fire! When we tried to dry our clothes from the wash the dryer literally started smoking! The owners of this property clearly do not have it serviced in between stays. When I called the agent in charge of the rental to report issues and ask for a partial refund she basically told me that I would not see any refund and that I should “vote with my money” next year to avoid getting a crappy rental again. Don’t worry, Pam, I will vote with my money and will not be choosing BHHS Gallo next year. Good riddance. ##### briefcase s. Bungalow needs TLC by owner and is not represented accurately by online pictures. Outdoor furniture was Unusable-dilapidated and dirty, weeds overgrown by outdoor shower, AC units did not work well, living room furniture older and did not appear clean. No interior lock on outside shower. Washer/dryer worked well as did kitchen appliances. Pets allowed.
