Wonderfully presented throughout this cottage provides spacious accommodation which is ideally suited for families and friends getting together. The cottage presents with open-plan living, featuring a lovely, fully-equipped kitchen and dining table. Get yourselves comfortable on the plush L-shaped sofa where you can relax and enjoy some fun and games or watch a film on the Smart TV or from the DVD collection. Outside there are extensive gardens and lawns for the kids to play out on all day while you sit on the decked patio with a refreshing beverage or busy cooking on the BBQ. They will get lost in their own little adventure while you enjoy the surrounding peace and quiet of the grounds. Relax and breathe deeply without any road traffic nearby and at night you can take in the beautiful starry sky and just chill! Enjoy the outstanding natural beauty of the North Cornish coast famous for its surfing beaches or for those Geo-caching enthusiasts Dartmoor National Park offers orienteering and letterboxing. You can unwind in beautiful, unspoilt countryside and explore many hidden treasures along the Tamar Valley. A delightful day out with the family can be spent at Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac, Padstow, The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Not too far away there are an array of pubs, shops and scenic views. The owners live on site along with their crew (two lovely Labradors, two cats and some cheeky hens!) and are more than happy to help you plan your holiday and advise on where to visit according to your wishes. There are plenty of farm shops nearby with Homeleigh Garden Centre being the closest. Here you can pick up all you need as well as local produce and gifts. The towns of Launceston, Holsworthy and Okehampton are the nearest and all have a rich history. There is a steam railway in Launceston where you can enjoy a trip through the unspoilt countryside of Cornwall. Great cycling along the granite way in Okehampton. You can find golf clubs in Holsworthy and Launceston. In the midst of fields and some farm buildings in the area, Swallows Cottage offers healing tranquility. Whenever you try to listen for anything besides the sounds of nature (birds, squirrels and cows mainly) you fail. It is very quiet and this was exactly what we needed. Easily you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings from the patio and relax in the nature or you get inside where everything is at hand that you need - the kitchen is well equipped, two bathrooms to share with your family, a room for kids and a bedroom for the parents and kitchen next to the comfortable living room. Brochures of activities and sights in Devon or Cornwall are at the ready and the host is very friendly and welcoming. This was the perfect location for our two-weeks holiday on the border of Devon / Cornwall and we can very well recommend this to anyone who seeks peace and time for yourself. ##### Tobias P. We were situated in calm and quiet surroundings (with only the property owners, their pets and a field of quiet cows as neighbours!) We were near main roads (after a little drive down narrow country lanes first!) and visited places such as Porthmeor, St. Ives, Launceston, Marazion, St. Michaels Mount, Fraddon, Fowey, Strawberry Fields, Charlie Bears Bearhouse Gallery & Shop, Lanhydrock, and stopping at West Bay on the way back home! Swallows Cottage provides all the necessities that may be needed on a holiday. Fully supplied kitchen and also has baby cot, seat etc available. The beds were comfy too! A welcome gift of Cornish biscuits, freshly laid eggs (from the owners own hens!) were really appreciated! And my daughter discovered she likes Peppermint tea! We would highly recommend Swallows Cottage to anyone looking to stay in this part of Cornwall. ##### Melanie S.
