"I stayed two nights at this hotel. The location is fairly central and I found it easy to park. The reception staff were friendly. The room was clean. The problem was that there was no breakfast (despite what it syas on the website). I was there on a sunday morning and a monday bank holiday morning, so it was not easy to find anywhere open early for breakfast. There was a kettle in my room and a single, rather aged looking green tea bag."

"This is an out-of-the-ordinary Spanish parador. To be chosen by those on honeymoon, be it for those just married or those celebrating 50 years. The hotel is adjacent to a formidable castle, open for visitation. And there is a gorgeous hike into the woods, also adjacent to the hotel. Jaen is an interesting town, too. Would like to thank the staff at the hotel for making the extra effort to accommodate our son who at last minute joined us and needed a room. Book early because this hotel is in high...

"This was an unusual place to stay overnight on our way further South in Spain. The location was accurately given by both Google Maps and Waze. You have to trust them as the approach looks a bit unlikely as you get nearer. May be tricky if arriving in the dark. We were a bit nervous about the entry process using links on our phones but it was all very easy in practice. Just be sure to have mobile signal & power in your battery. We had the place to ourselves so it felt like staying in a huge...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Las Casillas?
The best area to stay in Las Casillas is directly within the village centre, particularly around the Church of San Juan Bautista and the main square.

This area is the heart of the village, offering a tranquil and authentic Andalusian experience. You'll find charming, narrow streets, traditional white-washed houses, and local establishments centred around the church. It's an ideal spot for those seeking a peaceful retreat, away from the hustle and bustle, with easy access to the village's few but welcoming amenities.

Couples looking for a romantic and quiet escape will find the village centre particularly appealing. The intimate setting, with its slow pace of life and picturesque surroundings, provides a superb backdrop for a relaxing holiday together.
When is the best time to go to Las Casillas?
The best time to visit Las Casillas, Andalusia, Spain, is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months. These periods offer pleasant weather, ideal for exploring the region without the intense summer heat or the cooler, sometimes wetter, winter conditions.

During spring, the countryside around Las Casillas is particularly beautiful, with wildflowers in bloom and lush green landscapes. Temperatures are comfortably warm, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C, great for outdoor activities such as hiking in the nearby Sierra Subbética Natural Park or enjoying a leisurely walk through the olive groves. This season is also excellent for couples looking for a romantic getaway, as the mild evenings are ideal for dining al fresco at local restaurants.

Autumn also provides wonderful weather, with temperatures similar to spring, usually between 20°C and 28°C. The olive harvest often begins in late autumn, offering a unique cultural experience for those interested in local traditions. This is a great time for solo travellers who enjoy exploring at their own pace, as the crowds are thinner than in summer, making it easier to visit attractions like the nearby white villages or the historic city of Córdoba without feeling rushed.
