There were also a couple on the nightstand in the bedroom. Several blankets had been thrown into the bottom of a bedroom closet. Jun 28, 2024 #### Fantastic inside space but outside is lacking We rented this house and one a few houses away for a large family gathering. The inside of this house is great, particularly the bathrooms and kitchen. It was also nice to have king beds. We didn’t spend much time at the house because the rest of the family was in the bigger house and that was the focus of our weekend. The one downside to this house is the outside. While there were two balconies, their view was obstructed by a very overgrown front yard and tall trees so I would not have wanted to sit out there and look at that; it also encouraged a lot of bugs to be close to the house. Would use this house again for the same purpose (basically extra beds). The house was well-supplied with all we needed (paper towels, dish soap, shampoo, etc). It is a little musty-smelling, as older Junaluska homes often are. When planning our work retreat, we decided to go to the mountains instead of the coast as it is July and let's face it there is a difference between 10-15 degrees and humidity. As I was searching for the home on Vacasa, my daughter said, "Hey, that's OUR house!" We used to stay in this home annually, but have not been there since 2019\. It was wonderful to walk in and see that things were as we remembered. The beds are comfortable, minus the queen bed upstairs which is harder than we would prefer. Having a laundry room in the home is great as we did have need to run a few loads of laundry. Two separate living areas gave us room to not have to be with each other all the time. The porches gave room for us to take work phone calls and not be in each other's way. The large dining table gave us plenty of room to work and eat and not have to clean up the space in between activities. We do wish Mr. & Mrs. Squirrel the best in their childrearing. (Look in the tree off the top porch to the right.) And what would our trip be without a chance to "Pet that DAWWWGGGGG!" with the bear stool in the living room. It has large bedrooms with king and queen beds (mostly) and a very functional kitchen area. The outside table on the open second floor porch needed to be cleaned before we could use it. We tried to make brownies in the oven, but there was a large pool of grease in the bottom of the oven which we had not noticed. It started to smoke. We did a clean cycle on the oven and baked the next day. There are specific instructions about using only the closed trash containers outside the house, but these were entirely filled (three of them) on the day when we arrived. None of these issues were "I would not rent again" problems. It was a very pleasant house for the ten people that we had staying there. ##### David C.
