  • Aloha, and welcome to this picture-perfect Puamana home. #43-2 is an ideal oceanfront location inside the beautiful protected Puamana grounds, unharmed by the Lahaina fire. This home has just recently been updated and features numerous improvements. Brand new, cool & efficient, split-ductless AC system on the main floor and both bedrooms, wood-look vinyl flooring upstairs, new living area furniture, and beautiful new tiles on the lanai. The spacious second-floor lanai off the mast bedroom is the perfect and peaceful place to enjoy your morning coffee or evening Mai tai. The large, fully equipped kitchen is great for cooking any meal. A true oceanfront setting puts you just steps from the ocean. With sweeping views of the Pacific and neighboring islands, this home is the Maui vacation of your dreams.

    At Puamana, you can enjoy a refreshing pool, a tennis court, pickleball, three surf breaks, and a seasonal golden sand beach. Relax in your tropical privacy away from the crowds and high-rise hotels while remaining close enough to enjoy world-class golf, unique shopping, fabulous dining experiences, and the Kaanapali and Kapalua resort amenities.     Several buildings on the northern side of Puamana’s oceanfront community were impacted by the Lahaina fires of 2023. Fortunately, this property and the entire southern side of Puamana were unharmed; however, cleared parcels will be visible as you drive down the highway and first enter Puamana. We’re also pleased to report that two grocery store complexes in Lahaina—Safeway and Foodland Farms—as well as Maui's renowned Hula show, the Old Lahaina Luau, and four excellent Lahaina restaurants—Ocean Tavern, Mala, Aloha Mixed Plate, and Star Noodle—were not affected and are all less than a ten-minute drive away

Check in was seamless the team Whalers/Vacation Maui are awesome and responsive. WiFi worked well as did the tv. Could see turtles from the porch and deck. This is our third time staying in one of their properties, and they always have common items stocked, and check in to see if we need anything.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was outstanding, with wonderful amenities on the grounds. We had challenges with a variety of insects (including about 50 large, dead and dying termites on the floor upon entering the unit, which we vacuumed up). I reported the issue that afternoon and received a communication the following afternoon. They offered to send an exterminator, but we preferred not to have an extermination done during our trip. We figured out different ways to manage during the trip, both following their recommendations regarding trash and food management, as well as moving food to the south side of the kitchen. We also reported a leaking toilet valve, which loudly replaced the water about 4 times per hour, but it was not fixed during our stay. The boogie boards and chairs were terrific for our beach trips and we enjoyed coffees on the lanai in the morning and wine at night during the beautiful sunsets.

Amazing oceanfront location

We had a very nice stay. The view was absolutely amazing and relaxing. The property grounds are well maintained and the private beach was perfect. The unit was nice however could have been cleaner. The floors felt sticky and there was built up grime on the furniture (especially where people had placed their feet on the coffee table edges) and debris under the glass of the coffee table. There is a notice about keeping the sliding screens closed to avoid any unwanted "visitors" (mice) but there was a hole in the bottom of the screen so I would suggest that being fixed. All in all we had a great time. Would just recommend some deep cleaning.

Great condo with the best ocean view

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this condo. The current updates made this property even better. We love the ocean front view. It’s perfect for sitting out with your morning coffee or grilling up dinner. The beds are super comfy too.

Reviewer Comments: The condo is in a great location - close to all three pools, close to the beach access and close to the club house. The interior is dated, but comfortable. The kitchen is pretty well stocked and having AC in all the rooms is a welcome treat when coming in from the heat. This was our family’s first stay at Puamana, but we will definitely be coming back. The property feels safe, is quiet and family friendly. Loved being able to walk to Lahaina.

Great location, but lacks cleanliness and maintenance upkeeping.

The location was great, and the condo was nice. However, the place could’ve been cleaner. The floors were dirty. You can feel it. It made the bottom of our feet black. We had to buy some Swiffer pads to clean it. The coffee take is white, but was blackened on the edges and corners from repetitive use as a footrest for who knows how long. We covered it with a table cloth. The dishes were wet in the cabinets. Pulled out a couple bowls and they had water in it. We subsequently reached everything. In the master bathroom, the shower handle that controlled the water temperature was stripped. We had a difficult time finding the hot water, then turning off the water was also challenging. Limited access to the ocean. The great thing that I’ve always enjoyed about having an oceanfront condo is the ability to walk off the back lanai and get into the water. I couldn’t do that here. All that aside, we still enjoyed our stay here. The view was great and the condo was comfortable once we cleaned it. Probably won’t stay here again though. A lot of rules. There’s actually a published list of fines for breaking certain rules of the community.

Very Small Quenn Bed & No AC

When I booked this Puamana 43-2 condo six months ago, it stated there was a queen sized bed in this unit. Be aware, this is the smallest queen bed ever built and it honestly felt like a full bed. Coming from a King bed at my home, I was willing to accept a queen size bed they advertised for this condo unit. Both my wife and I didn’t sleep well during our 8 night stay at this Puamana 43-2 unit because we were on top of each other and not in a good way. When you spend over $4k to stay with your family of four on a Hawaiian vacation, you would expect a bigger bed and to get a restful night of sleep. This was not the case for us during our recent stay from March 28 to April 5th 2019. I called the customer service explaining the bed was unacceptable and she told me that she checked with the owner to verify that the bed was a queen and there was nothing they could do for me. I would have stayed on the pullout couch bed downstairs but there was a lock on it with no key. There is no AC upstairs. Very disappointed!

Can’t beat the view or location

Beautiful, quiet and easy to access make this location an exceptional find. Best stocked kitchen we have found in three trips here...but air conditioning in the upstairs bedrooms would be a major plus. Even a small portable ac unit would make this place perfect.
