(2.50 deep), a beautiful view and lots of privacy, 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The villa has been renovated in 2020, the kitchen and the 2 bathrooms are modernized, 1 bathroom with bath with shower, 1 bathroom with a walk-in shower, both with thermostatic taps. The water system is linked to a descaling device. New sunscreens and the entire villa has been painted inside in 2020.. In 2021 the whole villa was painted outside. Pls look at google maps, satellite, there are only few villas surrounded by so much green trees, thus utmost privacy! WIFI and airco available. Spacious living/ dining room, newly furnished in 2024\. Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer available. Secluded garden with 100% privacy , only one neighbour higher on the mountain, 700 sqr. metres, property has walls all around. No houses on left and directly in front of the villa. Three terraces, one at pool level with BBQ and large stone table (seats 10), upper terrace with large table & chairs and lovely view at the sea and Pyrenees. 3Th terrace with table and 5 chairs next to the master bedroom. Two beaches (Cala Montgo and Riels) with restaurants, bars and shops at 1.200 and 1.500 mtrs. 8 Beautifull golf courses within 45 minutes drive, the nearest within 15 minutes. Possibilities of sailing and wind/kitesurfing, bicycles can be rented nearby. The local agent will await you in the villa upon arrival and show you around. Final cleaning is included in the rental fee for stays of 1 week or more. Aircon is not included in the rent, since this is primarily only used in July and August, it can be reserved at € 15 p.day. There are several beaches in L'Escala, Riells beach (1.200 mtrs.), a very large sandy beach with possibilities of sailing, pedalos, surf. Montgo beach (1.400 mtrs), app. 14 minute walk, 4 minutes by car. The old village has three small beaches. Just outside the village to the north is a beautifull archeological site along the sea side, Ruinas Empuries is a national monument, therefor an unspoiled seaside with pine trees along the coast. A path of 2 kilometers only for walking and cycliing leads from L'Escala to St. Marti d' Empuries along the beautifull beach, passing the archeological site.(see pictures in private album owner). Possibility to park under the trees near the beach. There is a possibility to rent bicycles d in the old village. Do take into account however, that one must cycle up hill when returning. L'Escala has a population of around 10,500\. The town is surrounded by blue flag beaches; At the northern end of the town the Bay of Roses has some of the most beautiful unspoiled beaches anywhere. In the town centre is the popular beach at Riells, and at the back side of Villa Marcopolo is the lovely beach at Montgo, both at 1.200 mtrs. L'Escala is one of the smaller holidays resorts at the Costa Bravan, perfect for families and independent holidaymakers wanting to avoid the mass-market package holiday resorts. Beautiful beaches, art, historic monuments, nature parks and one of Spain's most important wild bird reserves. The choice of restaurants in L'Escala are suited to all tastes covering traditional and European recipes in the menu's. Authentic Catalan, Tapas Bars, Fish Restaurants, Pizza's and Pasta's, Chinese and Mexican dishes with price range starting at € 15 for a 3 course menu with water and wine to exclusive meals in Michelin restaurants. Info is available in the villa. Sport and leisure: There are several golf courses in the area including the excellent Emporda 27 hole course. Cycling is very popular here, the area around L’Escala is mainly flat, and into the Pyrenees for the more serious riders. Tennis, walking, horse riding, go - carting and fishing and other water sports such as kayaking (at Montgo beach), sailing and snorkeling are popular are catered for and there are several scuba diving centres. At Montgo beach( 1.400 mt) one can rent kayaks, arrange scuba-diving courses, ideal for snorkeling. At the large Riells beach (1.200 mt) one can rent sailing boats, winds surf, possibilities of waterskiing and jetski. Also excellent beaches to the north of L'Escala in the Bay of Roses, a paradise for sailing and wind- and kite surfing. All beaches have fine sand and are ideal for sun bathing. The location is convenient, but you really need a car or scooter for reaching the beaches, nearby Riells and definitely old town, and supermarkets.Communication with the host was excellent, and assistance was prompt and helpful. The kitchen was well-equipped (note that there’s no oven), though the dishwasher is not located in the main kitchen.The villa was clean and everything functioned as expected, though the property is showing signs of age and the furnishings are quite basic. I’d recommend bringing your own bedding (fitted sheets, flat sheets, and pillowcases) and towels. Although we paid for them, the provided linens and towels were very worn (and we had to make the beds on arrival) The main bedroom has a comfortable bed, but the others were less so, and the pillows were in poor condition—we ended up purchasing new ones ourselves.It’s also worth noting that the fourth bedroom is accessed through the main bedroom, which may not work for some, it’s small so really just for young children. The pool and view were definite highlights. Outdoor furniture was adequate, though the main table was a folding camping table, and while there were umbrellas for shade, the main one was broken.We weren’t there to watch TV, but for reference, it wasn’t connected and air conditioning is only available at an extra cost.We had a good stay, and it’s a good villa, needs a little more love and attention given to it. ##### keeley l. Die Lage des Objektes ist einmalig. Das Haus als auch der Pool und der Garten waren wunderschön und sauber. Die Agentur und auch die Eigentümerin kümmern sich sehr gut um ihre Gäste. Unsere Kinder haben den Pool ausgiebig genutzt und vermissen ihn jetzt schon auf dem Rückweg. Wir kommen auf jedenfall wieder. ##### Dennis G. Die Lage war perfekt (mit dem Auto) zu verschiedenen Stränden und zu den Restaurants der Cala Montgo, besonders genossen haben wir den grandiosen Blick über L’ Escala und das Meer. Well equipped kitchen and house e.g. spices, olive oil and candles that we used outside in the evening. Air condition was nice to have. The beds need to be replaced. We were warmly welcomed, and the property manager quickly responded to our questions and one non- issue that arose. Loved the home and the town, didn’t know much about how charming the town and beach really was. Spent time in Barcelona, and Drove north to Caduceus, and went to several beach cities. L’Escala was by far the most enjoyable. The house and pool were excellent, and we could not have asked for anything to change. Excellent vacation home. ##### Timothea B. We were very fortunate with the weather in October so the pool was used frequently. You could say the interior is a bit outdated as mentioned earlier and could use an upgrade, but thats personal. We thought it was a nice family house and we felt really at home. Just a 15 minute walk from the beach of cala montgo. The surroundings are beautifull. Visited the archeological site in l'escala which is really recommended. Just 45 minutes from the beautifull town Girona. We will love to come back someday! ##### Sandra O. Als je van rust houdt is dit de plek waar je moet zijn. Het huis binnen is wat oud dated, kan wel wat een opknapbeurt gebruiken. Maar verder is het huis voorzien van alle gemakken en schoon. Naar supermarkt lopen is 13 min. en strand is daar vlakbij. We hadden onze hond meegenomen die zich prima vermaakt heeft op het honden strand, wat een uur lopen is van het huis. Wij voelden ons echt thuis in Villa Marco Polo. ##### Jacqueline B. Aunque la alquilan con lavavajillas, éste se encuentra saliendo de la casa y bajando unas escaleras a un parking, en una cocina en obras que se está construyendo allí, lo que supone bajar y subir con la vajilla en cada comida saliendo de la casa. No es nada cómodo. El jardín también está un poco abandonado y en obras. ##### Rosa I. Hardly were indoors, except to cool down a bit when it was > 37C for a few days, happy with the aircon. The villa has everything one needs, to relax and enjoy, the area the villa is located in is really quiet and green. Used the BBQ a lot and dined at lovely, reasonably priced restaurants in L'Escala, which is a lovely old village. Very nice beaches nearby and a lot of nice places to visit in the Emporda area. Would certainly like to come back to this spot! ##### dasd a. The house is close to supermarkets and attractions like beach , nice restaurants and very good food near L escala Very quiet street and the house is all equipped with all basic necessities. it is a plus to have the possibility to rent the bed and bath sheets and towels,, also the air con.
