"We had an amazing time everything from the transfers to and from the airport to the hotel, to the hotel itself just couldn’t fault anything. The staff couldn’t do enough for you and they were so friendly. This was the first time going all inclusive we couldn’t have chosen a better place the food was so nice and so much choice. The hotel was very clean and tidy the grounds were well maintained. We will be staying here again in the future."

"Dieses Haus ist wirklich außergewöhnlich und nahezu einmalig - Angefangen von der Historie, weiterführend über die Ausstattung und den Umbau des Ruinendorfes, bis hin zu den Gastgebern, die sich unfassbar herzlich um ihre Gäste bemühen. Wir reisen wirklich sehr viel und ich habe selten so eine Gastfreundschaft erlebt, während man gleichermaßen entspannt die Ruhe genießen konnte. "The property was very clean and well maintained. All of the staff were extremely friendly. Overall the food was very good. Not at all the properties fault but it rained 2 of the 4 days we stayed at this resort. A lot of this resorts amenities (ping pong, full size chess) and even some of the a la carte restaurants do not operate when it's raining. And with everyone needing to be inside, the common area's felt a bit cramped."

Grecotel LUX ME White

10/10 Excellent

"I had the immense pleasure of staying at Grecotel Lux*Me White for one week in mid-October, sharing a double room with two single beds with my 14-year-old son. To say this was quite possibly the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in would be an understatement. Amazing staff, a great location just 15 minutes from Rethymno, and a complimentary daily shuttle bus departing the hotel at 11 am and returning to pick you up at 3 pm. What more could you ask for? The hotel amenities are exceptional, from breakfast, lunch and dinner to drinks and snacks throughout the day. The staff are absolutely brilliant and spare no effort in making their guests’ stays truly memorable. I had several jaw-dropping moments during our stay, too many to list, but one that really stood out was seeing a full-sized honeycomb served at breakfast. That alone should give you a small idea of the exceptional service and experience this hotel offers. Honestly, I cannot recommend it highly enough. The highlight of the trip for me was the evening spent at the hotel’s own organic farm. Utter luxury."

The Royal Senses Resort & Spa Crete, Curio Collection Hilton

10/10 Excellent

"A fantastic hotel with an outstanding team who truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The attention to detail is exceptional, and every aspect of the experience is thoughtfully taken care of. From arrival to checkout, the staff make every effort to ensure you have a memorable and enjoyable stay. Their genuine hospitality and commitment to guest satisfaction really set this property apart. Highly recommended!"

Nautilux Rethymno by Mage Hotels

8/10 Good

"Over all hotel is nice , Everyone working here was nice and kind . Anyhow for 5 star hotel shower enclosure is only 2 stars…. It is no door from living area to the bathroom,so it is crazy cold when you get out from the shower, and enclosure itself is ridiculously uncomfortable, Other thing -guests are allowed to smoke in a balcony,no separation between smoking and nonsmoking rooms,so you will smell disgusting cigarette smoke all day long… Also -5 star hotel does not have heated pool ,so October 12 th pool temperature was 15 degrees Celsius-that is absolutely ridiculous…please invest some money for your pool heating,so guests, who paid for 5 star hotel can enjoy it …"

Grecotel Plaza Beach House

10/10 Excellent

"We booked a room at the last minute. There will a little mix up upon arrival but the hotel upgraded us and bought us dinner to compensate us. Honestly, there was no need. The hotel was fabulous and the staff could not have been friendlier. The beach area was perfect and exactly what we wanted during our time in Greece. Rethymno is a lovely town and not nearly as busy as Chania, which made a huge difference. We would definitely go back to this hotel."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Krasounas?

The best area to stay in Krasounas is the central village area, particularly around the main square.

This area is the heart of Krasounas, offering a traditional Cretan village experience. You'll find a selection of tavernas serving local cuisine, a few small shops, and the local church, all within easy walking distance of each other. The main square is often a gathering point for locals in the evenings.

For couples looking for a relaxed and authentic holiday, staying in one of the guesthouses or villas close to the village centre is ideal. You'll be able to enjoy quiet evenings, sample local dishes, and experience the slow pace of village life.

When is the best time to go to Krasounas?

The best time to visit Krasounas is during the spring (April to early June) and autumn (September to October) months.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, without the intense heat and larger crowds of the peak summer season. You'll find ideal conditions for exploring the countryside, visiting archaeological sites, and enjoying the beaches, with temperatures typically ranging from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking or cycling, spring is particularly lovely as the landscape is green and wildflowers are in bloom. It's an excellent time for couples looking for a romantic escape with comfortable weather for leisurely strolls and al fresco dining.

Autumn offers similarly agreeable weather, and the sea remains warm enough for swimming until late October.
