"We absolutely loved our suite at Lithos- it is a beautiful property! The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, the shower had good water pressure and hot water. The included breakfast was delicious, especially as we got to enjoy it on our private balcony. We enjoyed the location - near enough to walk to Areopoli and to drive to the beach in Limeni. Highly recommend Lithos!"

"Beautiful property. We loved our stay and had a beautiful view of the ocean. Would definitely return. Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Koita?
For a memorable and convenient stay in Koita, the best area is the historical village centre, particularly around the main square.

This area is the heart of Koita, characterised by its traditional stone towers and houses, narrow cobbled streets, and stunning views of the surrounding Mani landscape. The main square serves as a focal point, often hosting local gatherings and providing a genuine glimpse into village life. You'll find a few small, family-run tavernas here, offering authentic local cuisine.

Couples looking for a romantic and tranquil escape will find the village centre ideal. The quiet lanes and historic architecture create a wonderful setting for strolls, and the elevated position provides breathtaking sunsets over the mountains. It's superb for those who appreciate history and a slower pace.

For history enthusiasts, staying within the village centre offers unparalleled access to Koita's famous tower houses. Many of these have been carefully restored and converted into unique guesthouses, allowing you to experience living history firsthand.
When is the best time to go to Koita?
The best time to visit Koita is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer pleasant weather, with warm days and cooler evenings, ideal for exploring the region's historical sites and natural beauty. The landscape is particularly picturesque in spring with wildflowers blooming, and in autumn, the olive groves are ready for harvest, offering a glimpse into local life. Avoiding the peak summer months means fewer crowds, allowing for a more relaxed and authentic experience.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will find these seasons perfect. The milder temperatures are excellent for leisurely strolls through ancient villages and enjoying the scenic views of the Mani Peninsula without the intense heat of summer. Many hotels and guesthouses offer a more personal service during these quieter times.

Solo travellers will also appreciate the spring and autumn for their comfortable conditions for hiking and exploration. The less crowded trails and historical sites provide a more reflective experience.
