It is ideal for relaxation and beach holidays away from the conventionality of a five-star hotel. It combines the comforts of a modern home with the simplicity of traditional Cycladic architecture. It has combined decoration of today through the past of its owners and their ancestors who, as old captains, spent their summer holidays there. On the ground floor there are the reception areas with strong elements of family culture and tradition, WC, bathroom with shower and of course the kitchen with an island sofa and the table in the middle, the most comfortable and cosy place to develop all the daily activity as well as... the courtyard with the red pergola where you enjoy your cool drink or whatever else you think about, listening to the waves licking the sand and the pebbles of the beach. Here you experience the peace, the tranquility and the picturesque landscape, from sunrise to late afternoons, with the unique full moon under a crystal clear sky full of stars you want to reach. A large wooden staircase leads from the ground to the first floor where three chambers (1m / b) open their doors to accommodate up to 5 people. Here lies the main bathroom of the house. The master bedroom has a large terrace with a spectacular view across the beach to feel that in front of you extends a well prepared theater scene. And at the hours of rest after swimming ... .in distance of 20-200 meters cafes, bars and restaurants of the most famous of the Aegean, is willing to meet most taste desires, inspired mainly by the local cuisine. In the village at 700 meters, among the clear white houses and churches, beautiful shops satisfy the needs of every moment. The beaches of Aliki, Bonatsa, Kalamitsi, Ellinika, Mavrospilia, Dekas, Prassa are easily accessed by road for something so similar and yet so different. Στο Ισόγειο υπάρχουν οι χώροι υποδοχής με έντονα τα στοιχεία της οικογενειακής κουλτούρας και παράδοσης, WC, μπάνιο-ντουσιέρα και βέβαια η κουζίνα με το νησιώτικο καναπέ και το τραπέζι στη μέση, ο πιο άνετος και ζεστός χώρος για να εξελιχθεί όλη η ημερήσια δραστηριότητα όπως και…η αυλή με την κόκκινη πέργκολα όπου απολαμβάνεις το δροσερό σου ρόφημα ή ό,τι άλλο σκεφτείς, ακούγοντας το κύμα να γλείφει την άμμο και τα βότσαλα της παραλίας. Εδώ βιώνεις τη γαλήνη, την ηρεμία και τη γραφικότητα του τοπίου, από την ανατολή του ηλίου μέχρι αργά τ’ απόγευμα, με τη μοναδική πανσέληνο κάτω από έναν πεντακάθαρο ουρανό γεμάτο αστέρια που θέλεις να φτάσεις. Η μεγάλη ξύλινη σκάλα του Ισογείου οδηγεί στον Α’ όροφο όπου 3 κάμαρες (1m/b) ανοίγουν τις πόρτες τους για να φιλοξενήσουν μέχρι 5 άτομα. Εδώ βρίσκεται και το κύριο μπάνιο του σπιτιού. Το master bedroom διαθέτει μεγάλη βεράντα με μοναδική θέα σε όλη την παραλία ώστε να νοιώθεις ότι μπροστά σου εκτείνεται καλοφροντισμένο σκηνικό θεάτρου. Και τις ώρες της ανάπαυλας, μετά το κολύμπι….σε απόσταση 20-200 μέτρων καφέ, μπάρ και εστιατόρια από τα πιο φημισμένα του Αιγαίου, είναι πρόθυμα να ικανοποιήσουν τις πιο τερψιλαρύγγιες επιθυμίες, εμπνευσμένες κυρίως από την τοπική κουζίνα. Στο χωριό και σε απόσταση 700 μέτρων, ανάμεσα στα κατάλευκα σπιτάκια και τις εκκλησίες, όμορφα μαγαζάκια ικανοποιούν την όρεξη της κάθε στιγμής. Οι παραλίες Αλυκή, Μπονάτσα, Καλαμίτσι, Ελληνικά, Μαυροσπήλια, Δέκας, Πράσσα προσεγγίζονται εύκολα οδικώς για κάτι τόσο όμοιο και συνάμα τόσο διαφορετικό. Οι άλλες επίσης πανέμορφες-παρθένες παραλίες του νησιού όπως και αυτές της Πολυαίγου γίνονται επισκέψιμες με την ενοικίαση σκάφους. The host family has lovingly restored and designed their home with class, character, and comfort. The space was perfect for our family of four. The beach-front location was amazing for a daily swim (or two), with upper-level porches for a quiet getaway, or the main-level patio for boat and people-watching and connecting with locals. The living, dining and kitchen areas were up to date but with classic Greek flair, and the bedrooms and baths were all very clean and comfortable. There was even maid-service mid-week to provide fresh linens (she was lovely - so friendly, bringing us local breads for our lunch). There was a grocery just up the beach for easy access, and there were fantastic restaurants just steps away in either direction. The kitchen two doors down had fantastic coffee, breakfast and lunch (with beachside seating, or porch service from the very friendly owner), or the bakery/confectionery three doors down offered delicious coffee and breakfast as well as amazing homemade gelato, frozen treats and traditional Greek as well as French deserts. In the opposite direction were two exceptional restaurants for lunch or dinner, and a bar for afternoon refreshments. The historic town center is a short walk (or bus ride) up the hill for experiencing “the castle” ruins, churches, shopping and additional restaurants. The bus (or car/motorbike rental) also takes you around the island to various beaches with loungers/umbrellas and bar/cafe services. The hosts, Poly & Stamatis, could not have been friendlier! They provided email outreach before our trip, with suggestions on ferry service and bus/cab options when coming from Athens to Milos to Kimolos. They met us at the port on our arrival, left us a map with recommended beaches and restaurant suggestions, as well as wonderful instructions on the house. They also assisted during the week with our tour to visit other parts of the island. We would highly recommend this property, and hope we can return again one day.
