Welcome to the Flower Power House, where Key West’s free spirit lives on in every colorful corner. Built in 1938 and reinvented over decades by its owner-artists, this isn’t your average vacation rental—it’s an ever-evolving, artful hideaway with handmade details and a playful maze-like layout that invites discovery. Each door leads somewhere fun: a cozy sleeping porch, a pastel pink seashell carriage house, or a sunlit loft tucked under open-beam ceilings. Forget hotel perfection; here, charm comes from bespoke creativity and the joy of offbeat island treasures. Inside, you’ll find six bedrooms spread across three interconnected spaces. The pool was great; even though it was shared with the other properties. We didn’t realize our spaces were broken up as much as they were, but in the end it worked well and there was plenty of space. Beds were comfortable and the extra touches made it nice-towels, coffee maker, ice and washer/dryer. Great spot for a multi family vacation. We booked this home for a family reunion and our first visit to Key West. We were thrilled with our choice. Beautiful, spacious home in a charming neighborhood. Plenty of family space, plus comfortable bedrooms. Everything we needed was within the home. We rented bicycles for the whole family, and the home is close enough to cycle anywhere on the island. The property itself was a little raggity with small tree branches a trillion leaves twigs and sticks all over the walk ways and the pool which was almost unswimable until they sent someone to clean it on our last day. Also the backyard and pool is a shared spaced and shared by 2 additional house rentals which is not in description if it was we probably would not have booked especially being that we had to share pool with a family of 6 with young children. My group of 10 adult guys were not too pleased when we saw kids with swimmies on doing cannonballs. May 17, 2019 #### Stayed May 2 - 6 The property was definitely large enough for our group of 29, however we had bugs in the beds towards the end of our stay which did put a damper on our time. when I had emailed the place they said it could have been termites which the bugs did not look like bed bugs. we had a issue where our electric went out and our air mattress deflated that was provided to us and the maintenance team came out fast to help us which was very nice. ##### Caitlin P. Mar 11, 2020 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, listing accuracy #### Quirky Fun The Flower Power House was the big quirky house experience we were looking for. It accommodated the big group we needed it too. However with an older house there were things that didn’t work or weren’t in the best shape (light switches, outlets, out door ceiling fans). It also needed more lighting around the grounds and back to the cottage. There were neighborhood grocery stores and liquor stores near by but Duval St and the beach was minutes away by Bike or Uber not within walking distance. We had a fun experience staying in this historical home. ##### Mary L.
