The best time to visit Karijini is during the cooler, dry season, typically from April to October.During these months, the weather is most pleasant for exploring the national park's gorges and swimming holes. Daytime temperatures generally range from the mid-20s to low 30s Celsius, and nights are cool. This period avoids the intense heat and humidity of the summer months, which can see temperatures soar above 40 degrees Celsius, and the risk of monsoonal rains. For those planning an active trip, focusing on hiking and swimming, May to September offers the most comfortable conditions. The water levels in the gorges are usually ideal for swimming during this time, and the lower temperatures make extended walks much more enjoyable. This is superb for couples or solo travellers looking to fully experience the park's natural beauty without extreme weather challenges.Families travelling with children might find the shoulder months of April and October particularly appealing. The weather is still excellent, but the park tends to be less crowded than during the peak winter school holidays, offering a more relaxed experience.
