"We stayed here for two nights and we absolutely loved it. Most memorable are the hosts, friendly animals including the meerkat and amazing service. Lodge is in a beautiful setting with lots of hikes, nature and wildlife. Food is simple and homely, we loved eating together with the other guests and the host. Highly recommend - a great place to recharge. "

8.0 out of 10, Very good, (1 review)
"We had a nice night at Khan River Lodge. The bed and cottage were comfy and the staff was very kind. It is a two hour ride from Windhoek to the town and a forty five minute ride down a terrible dirt road to get to the hotel. Also we had no WiFi until a guest of the hotel reset the router, and then again it was only by the office that we were able to receive it."

What is the best area to stay in Karibib?
The best area to stay in Karibib is generally in and around the town centre, particularly along the main routes that offer easy access to amenities and onward travel.

Karibib is a small town, so the "centre" refers to the area where the main services are located, primarily along the B2 highway which runs through it. This central stretch offers the most convenient access to local shops, fuel stations, and eateries. It's a practical stopover for travellers journeying between the coast and inland Namibia.

For travellers passing through, especially those on a road trip, staying close to the B2 highway is the most convenient option. This allows for quick stops for refuelling, grabbing a meal, and resting before continuing your journey.

When is the best time to go to Karibib?
The best time to go to Karibib is during the dry season, from May to October, when the weather is consistently pleasant and ideal for exploring.

During these months, you can expect clear skies, warm days, and cool evenings. This period avoids the hotter, wetter summer months, making outdoor activities and travel around the region much more comfortable. It's a great time for those who appreciate comfortable weather for sightseeing and day trips.

Couples often find this period particularly appealing for a relaxed and unhurried experience. The mild temperatures are superb for enjoying the local stone and craft markets, or simply taking in the unique desert landscape without the intensity of the summer heat.

For solo travellers, the dry season offers excellent conditions for road trips through the Erongo Region, with well-maintained roads and fewer weather-related disruptions.
