It was overwhelming and did not feel completely safe. We relied on uber cars for transportation most of the time. There is a cute restaurant/club just down the street which has excellent pizza (called Cayenne) which you can walk to from Kabira).
I love and hate Kampala. It is a great place full of great people and way too many cars. Moving from one side of town to another has become untenable due to traffic issues. But if you can time it well and/or stick to one area ... it can work
