The Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club is a gated community of condominiums. There are three professional style tennis courts with night lighting. The large remodeled swimming pool is ideal for “laps” and also for small children and other water activities. Showers and restrooms are conveniently located in the large pavilion near the swimming pool and tennis courts.
One of the most interesting features of the Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club are the numerous archaeological sites. These preserved areas provide a glimpse of Hawaiian life years ago. Each site has a posted description of the activities that took place years and years ago.
The Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club has many gardens and walking trails. ONE GOES DIRECTLY TO A BEACH!! Flowers and tropical foliage are abundant. There are several outdoor barbecue areas for guests to go to.

Gorgeous views but . . .

The location of the Keauhou Surf and Racquet cannot be beat. However, for the price the condo was lacking. I have stayed at the Surf and Racquet in similar locations. This is the first time I could hear the upstairs neighbors, walking, opening closets and drawers and moving furniture. And it was constant starting as early as 5:00 am. Also, a number of the kitchen utensiks( primarily knives) had rust stains on them. Having stayed at properties that are less expensive, I guess I expected more from a high ori

Great location and worth it to wake up to the waves.

We enjoyed our March 2025 stay at the property (me, my husband and our 8-year-old son). The location is fantastic - just 5 minutes from the dock where the Fairwinds excursions launch where did both the day snorkel to Captain Cook and the night manta ray snorkel right at the Outrigger. We were especially grateful for the short drive home following the manta ray snorkel when we were a bit cold and ready to call it a night. I'm not sure I'd label this a luxury property since the bathrooms are in need of updating. The kitchen is nicely updated and while we didn't cook, it was nice to have a full size fridge along with the coffee maker and blender. The pool on the property is no frills, but my son still enjoyed it post-beach. I think the price is a bit high and the property itself is nearly 50 years old. But again, the location is probably the best part of the property. Short drive to the spots in Kailua-Kona, not far from the airport and we seemingly hit the CVS up the road nearly every day. The condo complex itself seemed to have a lot of retirees/snowbirds - not a lot of kids/families, but we did not spend a lot of time there during the day. Appreciate the communication from the property manager. Everything was very easy. Photos of the property are accurate.

Unit is as touted online, great view, great location, and high-end accommodation Only one draw back and that is the unit above us was occupied and the noise of their heavy footfalls was a constant distraction. Not enough to affect the overall rating but something that could be addressed.

Amazing lanai on the ocean

What a beautiful property! We spent 90% of our time on the lanai watching the ocean, boats, and enjoying the cool ocean breeze. The bed was super comfortable and the decor was primo. Loved having a washer/dryer in the unit. This place is stocked with tons of things including pool noodles, boogie boards, beach umbrella, beach towels and even a cooler. The pool was fantastic and we always felt safe in this gated community. This place is as advertised and I can’t recommend it enough. It did not disappoint.

Spacious, clean and quiet

The property has a lot of positives. There is ample parking, it is quiet and has a surprising amount of privacy for a ground-level unit. The sunsets are fantastic. The main bedroom has slider-type doors for internal privacy if needed. Bathrooms are nice. The A/C works well. They provide a generous amount of beach toys, chairs, etc. The only real negative is the TV. It is much too small for this price point and it runs an odd streaming service as opposed to traditional cable. Obviously, it's not the main reason you go to Hawaii, but an upgrade is needed. Also, it seemed the better beaches were pretty far away, but we aren't super familiar with the Big Island so we may have missed some closer beaches. Overall, it was a very nice property and we would likely stay there again.

Fantastic location

You can't beat the location. Right on the ocean, convenient parking and gated community. Nicely decorated. Only problem was washer broke while we were there and they could not get someone to fix it. Annoying but we survived .

Incredible place!

Perfect unit. Spotlessly clean, easy check in process, everything you need is supplied, comfy beds with plenty of towels and all the kitchen tools/appliances you could want. The best part though is the location of the unit and view from the lanai! Ground floor corner unit which is very private and has the most gorgeous sunset views! We spent most every evening and morning on the amazing lanai. The condo complex is so well maintained with immaculate landscaping and attention to detail. Close to restaurants, shopping, and attractions. Highly recommend this gorgeous place. Thank you to the owners for sharing it!

Beautiful!

We’ve stayed at this condo complex 3 times before and this is by far the most beautiful and peaceful unit so far. The care and thoughtfulness the owners have put into their home is amazing. Clean, very comfortable and peaceful. The wrap around view is absolutely mesmerizing. Mahalo to the owners for sharing their home and the property managers for a seamless experience!

Everything and more!!

This Condo was beyond our expectations! It was beautifully decorated and had everything that we needed. Not only were we impressed that it had everything we needed for the beach but the kitchen and bathrooms were fully stocked with extras as if it was our own houses. We didn’t have to go buy things because the condo already had them. The view from the wrap around Lani was spectacular!! We would love to rent the condo again given the chance. The beds were so comfortable and the showers had amazing water pressure. I don’t think there was anything about this condo that we didn’t like. 10/10 rating for sure!!!

Amazing Stay

I've booked at VRBO before and this unit by far is the best one ever! Owners definitely put their heart into it so that their guests felt right at home! Watching the whales throughout the day playing was the highlight of our vacation! Thank you for making us feel right at home!

Kona Vacation

The room was as advertised. The property is beautiful and we very much enjoyed our stay. Only item to note is that the water heater only allowed for a quick hot shower, other than that everything was great. House was fully stocked with essentials and the kitchen was perfect for dining in.

Wow! What a view!

The view from this condo was the best we found on the island. We made sure we watched our last Hawaiian sunset from here. We were going to stay at a resort with an ocean front room that would’ve cost us more, but found this gorgeous place. It is a very short walk to the pool and there is a sheltered picnic area with grills across from it that you can reserve. We woke up every day to a beautiful ocean and palm tree view. We were witness to the most beautiful sunsets in the world from this condo. It is like it is in the pictures—even better if that’s possible. Do not hesitate to rent this condo. It is in a good location on the island and very quiet.

Great location

We really enjoyed this property. The best feature was the back patio view of the ocean and beautiful sunsets. The property was clean, liked the two king size beds and daughter slept on sleeper sofa. Centrally located and KTA grocery store close. One knock was TV didn’t work and they only have one TV. Also there was a leak in the kitchen right counter. Every morning we had to wipe the dripping from somewhere. Also the king bed has an air conditioner above the headboard. It dripped condensation on my head occasionally. Overall the property was great.

This condo and property are awesome. The condo unit is even more beautiful than the listing. The western view from the patio is amazing. There are many activities on the property: tennis, pickle ball, volleyball, swimming. Great place and great stay.

What a beautiful property!

We were pleasantly surprised with this condo! I did read the reviews and knew that it would be nice, but we were blown away by the view! The condo has definitely been updated and they did not spare expenses. Everything is nicely done. The condo feels very private because it is in the corner so there’s not a lot of traffic in the front. The family/ dining area and master have an epic view. Very very comfy and cozy. Highly recommend.

Beautiful and convenient retreat

The condo was clean and very well stocked (with a view this beautiful you will want to eat every meal on the lanai watch the sun set or the water pound the black lava rocks! ). The pool and tennis courts were great and the wifi was super-fast. The location could not have been better - right on the water with the sun setting under a palm tree right - but also near a shopping center and central to lots of great snorkeling places. The beds were comfortable and the A/C was a huge benefit the hot week we were there! Abby was a helpful and responsive host, although everything was so well prepared and clearly communicated, we hardly interacted with her at all! Overall, great place to stay for our active and adventuresome family of 4!

Ocean views

A nice location and beautiful view of the ocean from every room. The sea breezes keep the property cool and the sound of the waves lull you to sleep at night. It’s a very comfortable, quiet place to stay with amenities such as tennis, pickleball, pool, ping pong, and friendly folks. I would highly recommend this place!
