Dog-friendly for up to two dogs! We have a 50-pound weight limit per dog and all dogs must be approved prior to check-in. The pet fee is $250. The other side of the duplex has the same layout and is also available to rent. There is a connecting door between the two sides that can be unlocked if both sides are rented by one group. Neighborhood Overview: Coastal Cottage 214 is ideally located on the north end of the island. It is within walking distance of Main Beach, Fort Clinch State Park, and the Egan’s Creek Greenway. It is also a quick drive to all the island\`s best dining and shopping in the downtown historic district. A few blocks to the north, you will find Main Beach which features the Salt Life and Sandbar Kitchen restaurants, a playground, and beachside putt putt golf. From there, Amelia Island\`s downtown historic district is just a short drive down Atlantic Avenue. There you will find plenty of wonderful restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and local culture. Fort Clinch State Park is also located along Atlantic Avenue. The park features the 19th century Fort Clinch (still open to the public for tours), a great beach, and lots of beautiful trails for hiking or biking. The South end of the island boasts several wonderful restaurants, the Ritz and Omni resorts, a picturesque canopy biking trail, and charming local boutiques. We recommend checking out the Ritz spa if you are looking for a relaxing treat! Getting Around: Amelia Island is a small area and is easy to navigate! There is free parking available throughout the entire island, making driving very easy to any place you choose to visit. Although Uber/Lyft are not very reliable on the island (we strongly recommend bringing a car), they are available through the app on your smartphone. Bike rentals are available at \`The Beach Store\` located 2 miles south of Coastal Cottage 214\. Riptide Watersports also delivers bikes. We didn't have to worry about our 7lb chihuahua while we were outside on the deck and easy outside access to walk our dog from the ground floor. Access to the beach was next to the property. There were Two of us traveling with a small dog, with friends dropping in while traveling. Morning dogs walks on the beach and biking distance to Fort Clinch State Park kept us busy. And the close location to the historic district of Fernandia was perfect for runs to the coffee shop and dinners out. The unit was cleverly clean and comfortable. It is a precious cottage that is very well appointed. Wonderful deck overlooking the beach. Property managers were very communicative and responded promptly inquiries. The home is small, but has everything you need and we were spending most of our time on the beach anyway. The hosts are clear and communicative about the listing and instructions. The cottage has all the amenities we needed and was so cute and immaculate. Travel tips- take advantage of the riptide sports delivery of beach chairs & water sport equipment; for a casual waterfront dinner, Sandbar was awesome (yummy blackened grouper sandwich), and for a nice dinner downtown, Burlingame was lovely. Can’t wait to be back and spend more time on this lovely island. And I’d recommend this cottage and Barefoot Amelia generally. ##### Megan S. One of cleanest VRBO/Abnb rentals I've stayed in. My small gripe is that there was maintenance going on early in the morning in the unit next door and from my understanding the owner owns both. Would have maybe scheduled that when there wasn't any occupants. Other than that, the owner was very helpful in their communication leading up to the stay. All appliances clean and in good working order. Only complaint was doors to deck did not close due to their construction and the door to come in and out of the condo did not always click when shutting so it had to be wiggled to close properly. ##### Jessica M.
