Hidden gem of a hotel, perfect location for sightseeing and public transport links, extremely helpful staff where nothing is too much trouble, rooms are spacious and clean, we booked the penthouse with its own private terrace balcony overlooking some of the more iconic sights of Istanbul which was fabulous, Breakfast choice was excellent with both hot and cold options. Offers airport shuttle at an additional cost which we used and found it to be very effective. Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return.

(Service and Hospitality) The hotel was extremely convenient for sightseeing, and the hospitality was outstanding. The staff were very warm, friendly, and attentive. Although we were traveling with children who may have been a little noisy, the staff treated us with great kindness and made us feel very welcome. (Room Facilities) The room was spacious enough, especially considering the location. The amenities were also fairly well-equipped, although items such as toothbrushes were not provided. (Location) The hotel is in an excellent location, with many major tourist attractions, including the Blue Mosque, within walking distance. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, so finding somewhere for lunch or dinner was never a problem. (Breakfast) The breakfast offered a great variety of options, and we were very satisfied with it. My personal highlight was the Turkish coffee, which was freshly prepared individually for each guest. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Istanbul. Highly recommended!

Ideal location and simple, tasteful and quiet rooms with great showers. Staff was helpful and the rooftop breakfast buffet offered a wide array of local offerings, beautifully displayed. Really a wonderful place to sit and sip on Turkish coffee or tea while watching birds weave across the rooftops in front of the majestic mosque minarets. This hotel offers high quality and good value.

Positives... / Very well located in the heart of the Sultanahmet neighbourhood. / Pleasant welcome. / Good sized room (superior double). / Complementary water. 2 bottes per day. / Kettle and tea/coffee. / Safety security box. / Wifi was fine. / Comfy chair and footstool which, for me, is always good to have. Other... / The room looks dated but it's functional. / There's a mosque next door, so the call to prayer was very apparent. The first call to prayer is at 05:45 so be prepared to be woken. It's only for 5 mins, and is actually fairly relaxing in tone. / The sound proofing is poor. I could hear the mumbled conversations of the guests in the next room, and every opening / closing of their room door (which they seemed to do far more than would be expected).

Excellent place to stay whether as a couple, family or solo. Very near to must visit tourist sites as its at Sultanahmet. Excellent front office staff. Each and every one were polite and helpful. Even helped us with our luggages when our shuttle driver could not reach the hotel front due to traffic and stopped about 40m short. The Staff definitely are a huge asset to the Hotel. Very clean and well kept lobby and rooms. Spacious too considering it was in the old city. If i was forced to leave a negative it would be breakfast but not to say it was bad but rather it was lacking in variety. Overall Tan Hotel is on our top list of places to stay if we were to visit Istanbul again.

Can’t Beat the Location

I traveled with the family. The family room was spacious and nice. The staff were super helpful. Breakfast at the rooftop was excellent with amazing views. The best thing was the location - close to all the tourist attractions! We will definitely stay here again without hesitation!

A fantastic trip to Istanbul with great service

From check in the hotel made us feel welcome and safe. The staff were attentive and helpful and were able to recommend good places. Breakfast was a teat, lots of lovely things to eat and the hotel is near some great eating/drinking locations. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will recommend to all.
