Fabulous! We loved staying at Culloden House. Our room was spacious, comfortable and lovely. The bathroom was spacious, luxurious and had lots of scented soaps, etc for our use. When we arrived early for our stay, our bags were taken up to our room us for us once it was ready. We came back later to find our room had been prepared for our evening with a nice turn down service. The hotel is very historic and reflects the importance of its place in the local history. We ate breakfast and one dinner there and the food was excellent and plentiful. The service staff was attentive, thoughtful and friendly. We walked around the Walled Garden one evening and were mesmerized by the beauty we found there. It is magical. Overall, this is ranks as a top 10 stay during our trip to Scotland.

We loved the location being so near the Culloden battlefield and Clava Cairns. Additionally, Inverness was a short drive with easy access. The property was lovely and we took advantage of walking the gardens. The library and drawing rooms were perfect to enjoy a cocktail and the breakfast and dinner were terrific. Lastly, the staff were personable and helpful.

Beautiful property- the hotel, gardens, “hairy coos” in the field. We absolutely loved our stay at Culloden House. The staff, especially our porters, Blake and Kyle, were so attentive and helpful. Blake is so fun and he filled us in on the amazing history of the house, and Kyle is just a gem! Our room was immaculate and so well-appointed. The only downside was that it was hot in our room, but we used the fan in the armoire to help cool it down some. The hotel is a short drive from the Culloden Battlefield and Clava Cairns. Our only regret is that we couldnt stay at Culloden House longer! Mark & Beth Fellmeth

Absolutely lovely experience too to bottom, including making friends in the bar room after a long day of travel. From Highland cows, to the garden, to the kindest staff, staying at Culloden House was a highlight of our trip.

We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful historical house. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and they made it really special. I called a couple of days before arrival, and Mr. George took note of our anticipated celebration. We got a very nice upgrade. Upon arrival, Ms. Leena was wonderful. During our stay Mr. Scott, Mr. Jimmy and the rest of the staff treated us like royalty. But Mr. Scott in particular was awesome. Accommodation was excellent and the food and drinks superb. We will go back!

The entire staff was extremely helpful they met us outside and carried our luggage in and later upstairs to our room. The concierge and assistant manager provided us with breakfast in our room at 6 am every morning because we had early tours. In addition they called taxi’s to take us into town. We also loved listening to the bagpipes at dinner time. The dining room was absolutely lovely as were the dinners which were creative and delicious. The bar was also wonderful and featured an incredible assortment of whiskeys. I can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay was. Mere words do not do it justice.

Beautiful classy hotel with very friendly staff. Kyle welcomed us and made us feel so special. There is also a farm behind the backyard lawn where we got to see and pet Scottish highland cows and their babies through the fence!

The service was wonderful. The staff helped arrange things like taxis and a horse ride and made sure I got breakfast before an early morning tour (excellent scones!). They were especially accommodating on my last day when I was taking a late train, allowing me to shower and have a place to hang out for a little while in the late afternoon. The common areas feel historic but comfortable and well kept. The rooms are mostly updated but if you want a historic feel, be sure to request it. Pretty much all the rooms are a little different. There’s a lovely walled garden onsite and I got selfies with the Highland cows in the neighboring field. Just know that if you don’t have a car, it’s about a £12-14 cab ride from town.

A grand old manor home on an extensive property sporting a handsome collection of elegant buildings, a fabulous walled-in garden, and a front lawn large enough to comfortably field a rugby game, Culloden House is a traveller’s treasure trove of tasteful elegance!
