Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Ino?
The best area to stay in Ino is along the Niyodo River, particularly in the vicinity of the Niyodogawa Crystal Palace or further upstream towards the Nakatsu Gorge.

This region is renowned for the Niyodo River's exceptionally clear, turquoise waters, often called "Niyodo Blue." The landscape is characterised by lush greenery, deep valleys, and dramatic rock formations. While not a traditional town centre, hotels and guesthouses here are typically scattered along the riverbanks or located into the hillsides, offering direct access to nature.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat, staying near the Niyodogawa Crystal Palace is ideal. This area provides opportunities for gentle walks along the river, enjoying the stunning water clarity, and experiencing the natural beauty of the region together. Many accommodations here offer river views, superb for a relaxing getaway.

Adventure travellers will find the areas further upstream, closer to attractions like the Nakatsu Gorge, more suitable. This location allows for easy access to hiking trails that lead to waterfalls and scenic viewpoints.
