We stayed at the Azumi for one night. After a dreary day of cycling, we were looking forward to some pampering. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The room was gorgeous - large and serene with nice appointments like a shoe dryer for wet days (genius!). The food at the on-site restaurant is very good.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It was our overnight halfway thru the Shimanami Kaido and it was such a wonderful place to rest. The views and especially sunrise are without equal! We regret not being able to stay at least 2 nights.
The villa is equipped with everything you need to make your own meals, do your own laundry, lounge wear etc. They even left us a few beers, orange juice, specialty jam and honey samples and enough food for our breakfast this morning.
We will absolutely be back...

The room was very clean, and very spacious. Beds were comfortable (two twin beds), as were the pillows. Washroom was on the smaller size.
Staff were absolutely amazing at this hotel. The view of the town and river from the room was perfect. In room amenities were also nice, the self brew coffee was pretty good.
We really enjoyed our time at the Onomichi Club and would stay there again.
It is a little hard to get to by foot. Especially from the train station, if you have luggage, pay the extra...

Our stay at Shiomachi Roya in Tomonoura was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. I was impressed by the renovations done to turn this old merchant house into an inn. I liked the design and decor. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Because this particular house (Roya) has only 4 rooms to stay in, the staff are located at another sister inn literally just around the corner, one minute away. Everything you need is within walking distance in this small town. Staying here enhanced...
