It's a quiet get away but also just a quick 5 min drive to Downtown Idyllwild. Want to stick around the house? We don't blame you. In case you find that you've run out of cheese puffs, beef jerky, firewood or wine - there is a well maintained gas station/convenience store, Pine Cove Market, a short walk away. You passed it on your way to the house. They have worms and night crawlers if you decide to go fishing at Lake Hemet (a quick 15 minute drive). If the hot tub's forest view isn't enough - hiking, camping, rock climbing and mountain biking are all a short distance away. Like right-down-the-road short distance away. This spacious A-frame home is equipped to handle a quiet couples retreat as well as family gatherings. With 1960 square feet, Raccoon Ridge sleeps up to 6 people (1 King bed, 1 Queen size bed, a Bunk Bed featuring 2 Twin Size beds). Gather the family in the main living space, complete with 55" smart TV...or retreat to the "Den" to listen to music on the blue tooth enabled audio system. The crackling of the fireplace in the Den sounds good too. Hot Tub? - Yeahman. Wood burning fireplace? - Yep. Wireless internet? - Yes, and it works surprisingly well. Raccoon Ridge also features 2 large patios so you can enjoy the trees and some big rocks and giant squirrels. No kidding, they are huge. BBQ on the back deck or take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen... either way, you are killing it. Good job. You picked the perfect place! Séjour de 2 nuits en octobre 2023 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Tina T. 28 août 2023 Points forts : Propreté #### Gorgeous hideaway in the woods We stayed for two week (including tropical storm Hilary) and absolutely enjoyed it. The house is just at the rim of a forest. We saw a bobcat walking up to the house twice. Squirrels and birds were present every day. Nature pure. The house is cozy and extremely well equipped to the detail. The top entrance area has two living room areas. One with a large, cozy L-shaped couch and a modern TV. The other area has a leather couch, cozy chairs and a fire place. The kitchen is very well equipped. We cook a lot and did not miss a thing. The dining area has a large table. The deck is very spacious and on the tree canopy level. You really feel like being in the woods. The small tables and chairs are perfect to find different spots with shade during the day. The hot tub is also on the deck. We used it almost daily. The lower area has the three sleeping rooms that are nice cold during summer. Given the previous reviews we worried about the hard mattresses and pre-contacted the owner. He was so nice and replaced them. I can attest that the new mattresses are not too hard, not too soft. Perfect! There are two bathrooms. The one in the upper level is spacious with a large shower and two sinks. The lower one is smaller, has a shower/bathtub, and two doors that connect to the master bedroom and the floor. There is plenty of towels, hand soap, toilet paper. The owner is super responsive (almost instantaneously) and takes good care of his visitors. We definitely want to return! ##### Tina T. The beds were very hard but we enjoyed how the house was tucked away in the area. Appreciated they accommodated two dogs. Owners were very responsive. ##### Eva K. The beds were a little harder than we would have liked but the couches were incredibly comfortable! The hot tub was nice, the space was fantastic and functional, and the kitchen was fully stocked and ready for daily use. We would totally go back again! ##### Karena S. Furnishings were nice. The mattress in the master is very firm but other than that our stay was great!! (I’m kind of picky about mattresses) ##### Tamara D. This cabin was perfect for a girlfriends' getaway! David communicated everything we needed to know and was prompt in responding to our messages. The house was clean on arrival, and well stocked with everything we needed for cooking, relaxing, and entertainment. The decks are huge and you could choose either to be in the sun or shade at various times of the day. As others have noted, the beds are hard - and I mean harder than any bed I have ever tried - but we still slept well. The teal couch is super squishy and huge if you can't handle the mattress. The location was quiet and secluded, and many squirrels and birds keep you entertained. We appreciate how attentive the owner, David was. He kept one step ahead in updating us on weather conditions, the need for chains, etc. The house and location were wonderful. David was a fantastic host- very responsive to all questions before and during our time. It was clean, spacious, and offered great amenities. The hot tub was our family’s favorite! We thought the location was perfect, just a few miles drive into the heart of town. Coming from San Diego, we prefer to have a sense of privacy and not be able to hear neighbors. Sitting on the deck for morning coffee and afternoon happy hour found us surrounded by a wide variety of trees in a very private back yard (except for the fun to watch squirrels). We brought our own food and found the kitchen very well equipped with all we needed. We left refueled and refreshed. David was super quick to respond to our handful of questions about the hot tub (those stars at night!). We loved every minute at the Hot Tub Hideaway and will definitely be back (unless we want to check out his other property…)! Thanks for a great experience, start to finish! ##### Kelly J.
