Grandma's House/Family and Pet Friendly/Hot Tub & Fire Pit/Close to Trout Stream

Grandma's House is located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, 2.5 miles from Hot Springs, NC. The house is located in a valley with beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Grandma's house is well situated to take advantage of all the recreational opportunities the region supplies, including hiking, rafting, fishing and more. Shut-In Creek is located right across the road for trout fishing or wading. If you want to swim in the summer time, the "Mill Pond" is less than a mile away from the house.

The house is family oriented. It has a queen size bed in the master bedroom and two twin beds (perfect for kids) in the other bedroom. We are also pet friendly to "well behaved" pets. With a large parking area for up to three vehicles, a fire-pit, and an outdoor deck with hot tub, picnic table, and gas grill, you may never want to leave the house!

Yearly mountain getaway
We love this property! We stayed here last year and it was perfect so we had to come back! It definitely feels like im walking into grandmas house! They let us stay an extra night and they were super fast to respond with anything we needed! The only thing we missed this time around were the neighbors chickens roaming around! Haha

Grandma’s house
The house was very cozy. My child loved it the moment we walked in! The hot tub was great. The porch/backyard was peaceful. The location was absolutely beautiful. My only complaint was that the floors under the bed hadn’t been cleaned properly and there is no washer/dryer. However neither of those things really interfered with our stay. The hosts were easy to contact and responded quickly. I would absolutely stay here again.

perfect spot in the middle of nowhere
wife asked to get completely away from everything to decompress. well hot springs nc is that place. amazing 2 block town along the appalachian trail. grandmas house is the place to stay. cozy. hot tub and fire pit is just what the body needs after a day of hiking. we will definitely be back and will stay at grandmas house for sure. thank you sherry

A Sweet Stay!
We opened the door to Grandma’s House and immediately felt welcomed and at home. The space was perfect for us— cozy but not too small; comfy, clean and warm. It’s clear that this house is loved by its owners. We enjoyed cooking in the perfectly adequate kitchen, looking at the stars from the back porch, and relaxing after long hikes in the hot tub. Gorgeous yard, close to Hot Springs
It’s a wonderful property overall. Simple, charming, and fantastic outdoor space. Neighbor’s chickens wandered around the yard and were very entertaining. The fire pit has a lovely view of the mountains. The only disadvantage to the property is lack of a dishwasher but that is what it is in a house this age. In a weird way it added to the quaintness.

We had a pleasant stay overall; house was clean; nice beds; needed more than one hand towel. There was no washer or dryer, and not one in town. Had to go 20 mins to next town to do laundry. Heard gun shots almost daily. Very nearby, which was discomforting.

Great place to stay!
We really enjoyed our stay, it was private. There is a lot to do nearby. Our dog loved playing in the backyard. We loved watching the chickens run around everyday! The hot tub was a nice bonus! There is great food in town. We frequented The Smoky Mountain Diner. I would definitely recommend Grandma's House, and we would stay there again!

Great little place in the mountains
My husband and I brought our young son and two dogs to Hot Springs for the weekend. This was the perfect place for us. Close to town but with a good size yard for the pups. The owners reached out before the trip with all the important information and were very responsive to our questions. Charming vintage decor inside the house but bathroom and kitchen had modern fixtures and appliances and were extremely clean and well stocked. Strong wi-fi. The only small negative I’ll mention is there were some large and very loud dogs just over the privacy fence. They seemed well secured so we weren’t worried about them coming over, but they were noisy when we went outside. As long as you and your furry friends don’t mind some big woofs, I’d highly recommend this property.

Grandparents at Grandma’s house!
This little house was comfortable and quiet for our short stay looking after grandchildren part time during a wedding in our in-laws’ family. Younger folks looking for adventure might want to stay in cabins up in the hills or right on the river, but this place suited us perfectly.
