Studio remodeled with a spacious kitchenette, built in electric cooktop and regular size fridge. The entire unit finished with stone floors, tons of storage and 'smooth' ceilings for a clean modern look. And Enjoy the wall mounted flat screen TV from the king size bed! Note: located in permitted resort area (134 Kapahulu Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96815) The Neighborhood: Waikiki Grand Hotel is right across street from small pier, ocean, and zoo. This end of Waikiki has the largest and best beach of the strip. Kapiolani Park and Waikiki Aquarium are a few minutes walk, 5 minutes or less. Getting Around: • Parking info. There is no parking included with this apartment. Building parking is $35 plus tax per day - call Waikiki Grand Hotel reserve a spot. • You can park for free around Kapiolani park which is about a 5 minute walk. Parking is on the "Paki Street" side of the park and along Monsarrat St. Kapiolani Park has free metered parking from 6pm-10am daily and all-day on Sundays. • Across the street, you can park at the zoo for only $1.5 an hour. This can be the cheapest option since you only pay for what you need. • If you choose not to rent a car, there are multiple bus routes just steps away. Uber or Lyft also available. I recommend only renting a car on days you plan to go North Shore. Everything else is walking distance or easily accessible by bus which is one of the best systems in the US. The listing does not accurately depictate the actual condo. The condo was incrediby dirty and run down. The bedskirt was stained and had dirt and hair all over it, there was roach traps in with the silverware, the bathroom was by far the worst. Mold everywhere, water damage everwhere, hair and dirt and grime through out. Shower curtain and liner moldy and filthy. Worst part of all a molded bath mat hiding the chipped and chipping ceramic bath tub. You have to wear shoes in the shower to prevent getting shards or cut on the bottom of your feet. You have to empty the drain cstch after each shower to dump the bath tub ships so the shower drains. Then when reported to owners their cleaners came back out to clean the mold as good as they could but just placed a flat sheet over the top of the bed skirt to hide the dirt and hair. I had to ask for new shower curtain and bath mat twice before it was dropped off on day 2\. I have never felt so dirty. Then the lock on the door stopped working. Overall terrible and hosts thought 50 off was justification.. no where near it. After fighting it out their final offer was only 183 off or pretty much 1 night. Which still isnt fair. Had we been able to afford somewhere else to go we would have left. The one star rating is due to the “rules” posted by a property management group which included excessive fines for chipped or broken dish/ glassware, any make up left on a towel would result in a large fee! Due to those threats of use on items at best were thrift store purchases we did not use any of their things! There was one bed and no additional bedding to use for sleeping on the sofa. the key pad to enter had no illuminating light so impossible to see the numbers until the first number was selected which often was the wrong guess, the restrictions using the AC unit which did not turn on once in 6 days, t property management has requirements to send a photo ID to complete reservation which I refused. Even after speaking to them they sent me the demand 4 more times which caused me high stress thinking I may not be given the key code along arrival. ![Standing water which caused the need to pull back a filthy tub mat which was covering the drain to find paper pieces in the screen. I’m hesitant to share a review because I want to be able to rent this unit in the future and I’m afraid it will be all booked up! This is an excellent budget friendly accommodation. The hotel is lovely and the proximity to the beach is second to none. The unit had everything we needed for our stay and the bed was super comfortable. The best part of our stay was the responsiveness of the owners. There was something missing from the kitchen that we needed and we told the owners about it and it was delivered that same evening. We have stayed in many VRBO units over the years and we have never had this kind of prompt response. We will definitely be back! ##### Nicola Z. To adjust from cold to hot was a hassle. If a child was using the shower they could scald themselves. I’d recommend changing the slip resistant in shower bathe mat, it smells like mold. A note about the possible flipping of a breaker with more than one appliance on at a time and if it happens just go to front desk for help. Aside from those recommendations, it served it purpose. Parking in the zoo parking lot, right across the road, was only 1.50 per hour, which is the cheapest you’ll find. You are notified via text message about 15 minutes before the time expires and then you can add up to an additional 960 minutes.The apartment was clean and the bed comfortable. The only issue I had was that there were cockroaches. I understand that in many warm environments this is an issue. The owner quickly responded to my concerns.I kept everything I brought and bought in the refrigerator. ##### Laurie S. Parking is 1.50 an hour right across the street at the Honolulu Zoo, but is hard to find parking spots from 10-3.Easy walk to shopping and being in the mix of Waikīkī. ##### Dustin H. The 10th floor sun deck is a nice surprise. The unit is located in a 1960's hotel that has been converted into a condo. There is a mix of locals living full time, retirees staying long term and typical weekly tourist staying in this building. This unit is not managed by the Waikiki Grand hotel management so the lobby staff have no control with any issues with the unit. The lobby staff are friendly and helpful on many areas that they control. Marabella Lane property management company rents this unit on VBRO and are based on the US mainland. We had issues checking in. We spent two hours in the lobby after listed check in time waiting for them to verify that we were the right customers. Customer service was terrible with Marabella Lane. We have never had an issue with any property manager checking into a unit anywhere in VRBO except for them. ##### William H. You can walk to the beach, local restaurants, and Waikiki shopping. The room was a nice size, comfortable bed and furniture. It was exactly what we were looking for. Great stay other than a couple of minor details. It looks like there are ongoing issues with roaches. We found a couple during the week. Every thing you need is in the apartment. Very spacious. Kitchen is a plus. Pool on site is nice. Building is clean, safe and quiet. The bed is huge and comfortable. Communication with Host, great! Ease of Check-in and Check-out, great! The major concern I had about my stay was the cleanliness of the place. My partner and I had to purchase cleaning supplies. We cleaned the kitchen and bathroom. Some maintenance and upkeep on the property are needed and would make the property look less "rundown." There was one small pot and pan, both not in good condition. Better quality pans and pots would have made cooking more convenient. After all, one of the reasons why we chose this location was for the kitchenette. ##### Alene S. The light fixture looked like it hadn’t been cleaned and had dead bugs in it. It felt disgusting sleeping in there have cockroaches in the room and all they property owner did was spray a product like raid and give us more cockroach traps- which both didn’t help. Parking was a squeeze and tight spot for $30 a night if you choose to park in their parking on site. The only good thing I would say it’s walking distance from zoo, beach, and shops. We did not have a relaxing time staying knowing there were cockroaches that were in the kitchen and didn’t feel comfortable cooking or eating inside the room. Would not recommend at all. Would have paid a little more for a room without cockroaches especially since I have children. I just wish they add in the description of the place that the “studio” is a hotel room ( we just don’t like hotels and if is an option we prefer not to stay at it). The area where is located is great if you like shopping and dining, the beach is just basically 5 minutes walking from your room. Another info that should be updated in the description is that there is no oven in the unit, the pool is not heated and if you book this place be ready to pay extra $ for parking spot otherwise you will have to deal with street parking.
