Parking was easy. Great communication with the host and the unit itself is clean and has a nice view of Diamond Head. The only issue we had with the unit is the shower head is super strong or a mist, with no in-between, which was annoying because you have to hold it in your hand. The building itself, however, could really use some updating. The hallway carpets need replacing, the reception area could be a lot more welcoming, the snack shop and fitness room were closed, an elevator was wonky... those sorts of things. They aren't vital to have a good time, but would certainly go a long way in getting a return visit. ##### Elizabeth S. Short walk to the beach, ABC store, and a couple of food trucks on the way. If you forgot something they had a little market on the 5th floor. BBQ area was great! Communication with manager was easy and responses were quick. Only issue we had was parking. We had rented an SUV to fit our family but because of the height in the parking garage we could only park on the second floor which was limited and first come first serve. Cooking was easy for us, and the beds were extra comfortable. The view was amazing, and we became very comfortabl walking the short walk to the beach and the main strip. This unit is in the heart of everything, and yet it is quiet. Highly recommend this for someone that wants to be close to everything, but still feel as if they have their own private paradise. Jun 8, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Great location of quaint condo close to all the Waikiki hotspots We enjoyed the condo and it served our needs for sleeping and resting after a long day enjoying the Island. It’s a bit smaller than the pictures lead on (inside), however, we didn’t come to Oahu to stay inside all day and laze around a house/condo. It served excellent jumping point to all the hotspots within walking distance to Waikiki, as well as close proximity to major veins to get around the island. The view from the balcony is breathtaking and served as a great vantage point in the morning and evening. WiFi was not working well, but building WiFi served as backup and fit our needs well. The AC didn’t cool the bedrooms rooms (we prefer a cooler nighttime, but opened the windows and let the fresh ocean breeze cool us at night. Would highly recommended for the value and proximity. Overall, the apartment is quite comfortable, clean, and equipped exactly as listed. Check-in was super easy. We had no problems during our stay. Parking in the garage is first-come, first-served, which can make coming and going a bit time consuming. The elevators can be similarly slow (although one was out our entire stay, it had been for more than a month). The only real complaints we had were almost no water flow out of the bathroom sink, and the tap water would taste a lot better with a water filter (bottled water is terrible for the environment!). ##### Arthur P. Reviewer Comments: The good Captain Cook was easy to work with and a great company overall. The unit was dated, but clean. In a great location. Walkable to the beach, stores , restaurants. Had no issues with parking.The bad- we booked this unit for the location and pool. The pool was closed for maintenance two days of our stay. The elevators were also out of order intermittently for two days. We were notified by a sign inside the elevator. Had I known of these issues, we would have either not booked this unit or planned to be on excursions during this time period. As it was, we were on the 24th floor, so we needed up being trapped inside for several hours. We did receive a small refund, but really not worth it considering the impact. According to other long term guests, the elevator issues are common. The pull out sofa does not have a mattress- it's a 4inch piece of foam suitable for a child only. ##### Wendy D. Here are the pros: 1) Great location—within a mile of Waikiki beach and shopping 2) Spotless 3) Beds are comfortable 4) Condo is supplied with plenty of dishes, pans, etc all in good shape 5) WiFi is strong 6) Byron is helpful Cons: 1) This is an old building with soiled carpeting and poorly maintained hallways 2) This is a 38-floor building with the condo on the 24th, but only two elevators of the four are in working order—of course they are on the ends so if you are standing on the Murphy’s Law end and don’t scurry to the other end you’ll miss it and have to wait another round. According to staff, it’s been that way a while. 3) The very heavy door of the condo is old with a broken spring to soften the closure. The smart lock wasn’t working and so the three of us had to be sure someone had the solo key. 4) There is an app to pay for laundry and it is located right next door to the condo—good news is it’s close, bad news is you get to hear people going in and out doing their laundry. 5) As of December, the property has some kind of construction going on. There is no place to park while you check in—fortunately Byron was on site and could come out to the street to give us the parking pass for the garage. 6) Leaving requires loading your car, having one of your party pull out and park in a “no parking” zone while another waits for one of the two elevators to go back up to the condo and return the pass to the condo. ##### Anna B.
