From the moment you step inside you will say "ooh". That is what my guest have always told me they said out loud upon arrival. You know right away that you are going to have a comfortable, clean, fun place to spend your vacation time. Enjoy all of the original art throughout the villa. It is like visiting a small art gallery. All of the art has been created by local artist. Relax and read a book from the library. It’s like staying in your own art gallery/library! Have breakfast or afternoon cocktails on the large, wrap around patio while enjoying vistas of the golf course and lagoon. An early morning bike ride around on Palmetto Dunes bike paths is a great way to start the day. Hilton Head has bike paths throughout the entire island. We have 2 beach cruisers for you to use. Enjoy canoeing or fishing in the winding canals that are located throughout Palmetto Dunes. Palmetto Dunes is a world class resort with 3 golf courses, beach, marina and shopping. The Dune Buggy will pick you up for free at St. Andrews Commons and take you down to the beach, golf course, tennis courts, boat and kayak rental at PD Outfitters, or across the street to Shelter Cove…and bring you back. (April - Sept). Palmetto Dunes has some of the most beautiful beaches on the island...3 miles of beach is just an 8 minute bike ride away. In the afternoon you will be ready to cool off with a swim in the large pool that is just steps from the villa. It is easy to shower or change or get a reprieve from the sun at the pool pavilion. Enjoy a libation at the tiki bar down at the Palmetto Dunes Beach House and watch the sunset while making new friends. Great place for lunch or even a casual dinner. Love the fish tacos. This spacious 2 bedroom/2 bath villa is located just inside Palmetto Dunes Plantation which is rated the #1 resort for families by Travel and Leisure Magazine. This is a great central location for everything on the island. The villa has recently been updated with new modern kitchen, baths, new carpet, fans, lighting and paint. The kitchen is fully equipped and you will find all of the things you would want in your own home…blenders for icy Pina Coladas and spices and stock items as well as a Keurig coffee maker and drip coffee maker. Lunch and breakfast are easy to serve at the breakfast bar. You will find 4 nice beach chairs and a beach umbrella for you to use in the outside storage closet. A relaxing, large master bedroom is downstairs with a very comfortable king bed, sitting area and doors that open onto the patio. A dressing area leads into the beautiful tiled walk- in shower. The second bedroom is a large loft upstairs with a queen bed, full bath, large closet and sitting area with a desk. Lots of fun decor...You will think you are in Key West! Soft, fluffy towels are standard. Light soars thru the cathedral ceilings in the sunken living room. French doors open onto the patio. Televisions with cable and dvd are found in master bedroom and living room. Super fast wireless internet lets you sit outside and work or just stay in communication to say how much fun you are having. The large dining area can seat 4 guest. Plus, you have the 2 bar stools at the breakfast bar. Washer and dryer are brand new and full size with laundry detergent stocked for your use. The Tommy Bahama style furniture is very stylish and comfortable. Enjoy professional coastal decorator designs throughout including original art work by local artist. The view is one of the best in St. Andrews; private with scenic views of golf course/lagoon. The wrap around porch has a table and chairs so you can eat outside. There are several other swivel/rocking chairs ready for relaxing on the porch. Parking is easy and convenient. Lovely landscaped courtyard leads to this upstairs villa. The owners have been island residents for over 25 years, so they can make great suggestions for things to do on The Island, Savannah or even Charleston. We want everything to be comfortable and convenient for your stay. We can even arrange to have bikes at the villa when you get there. This villa is great year round for couples, small families and golfers. Hilton Head is known for its pristine beaches, abundance of tennis courts, great golf courses, shopping and top rated restaurants. You really don’t need a car to get around during your stay. The host Laura, after a back and forth of when we could get in the condo, finally let us know that the condo was ready. As we tried to unlock the door we noticed there were suitcases in the entryway. As we walked in, we realized that the owner Laura was still in the condo and not ready to leave.Her personal items were everywhere and she was still packing up to leave. The towels we were supposed to use for the week were still wet in the washer which she then asked me to finish. There was one bike not two which she then told us that if we fixed the back tire of the second one we could use it. She then told us she would be back later in the weekend to pick up her beer in the refrigerator. The refrigerator and freezer which had her personal half used food and beer in it. Disgusting! The closets were full of her personal belongings which included liquor and prescriptions drugs, YES! Prescription Drugs We took pictures of everything and got the heck out of there. We ended up at a hotel for the night, and found another condo for the week, but this was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! Ironically, she did return the cleaning fee to us which is funny being that the condo was GROSS. And the fact that she would be coming back in and out of the condo when we are there. REMINDER…. We have never written a negative review in over 10 years of using VRBO, but we felt obligated to SHARE OUR HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE TO HELP OTHERS AVOID THIS HOST AND PROPERTY. ##### Christina B. My teens loved their private loft room with full bath to themselves. Note, there are spiral stairs so can be a little tricky with large luggage. After paying in full for our trip, we were contacted by Laura and told that there was a booking mistake and we could no longer stay in the property. It was RBC Heritage that week so prices had doubled. We were offered to stay in another property in a different area so stayed there. It was hectic and disappointing but the condo we stayed in ended up being very nice. Only complaints: there was no toilet paper in the entire condo upon arrival so we had to head directly to the store. Then there was no freon so the unit was 80+ degrees. Laura contacted the owner who set up a service call. When we got back, the guy told us the freon was replaced so it was now 73 degrees, which was great. Laura then acted as though there had been nothing wrong and that we had just complained about nothing, without realizing freon had to be replaced. In fact, for being cancelled on a week before our trip after full payment, having no toilet paper upon arrival and 80+ degrees in the unit, I felt we were very understanding and patient. Overall, Laura made an effort to remedy the problems, which ended up fine in the end. ##### Jill E. We love Palmetto Dunes and this was a quiet area with a nice pool. The condo is close to Shelter Cove. It is one mile from the beach (approximately 22 minute walk or 7-10 minute bike ride.) The condo was a bit smaller than the picture angles show, however it fit our family of four just fine. The bed and living furniture was comfortable and the covered back balcony was relaxing. We did not realize upon booking or until arriving that this is a part-time residence for the owner, and this is not the type of property that we rent. There were a lot of personal items throughout the condo and we prefer a blank slate when vacationing. This is just a personal preference. During the time of our stay, there were some housekeeping issues that came up and the owner was receptive and quick to respond, which was appreciated. ##### Kelley L. It was spacious yet cozy, well-equipped, and clean. We love the St. Andrews Common area of Palmetto Dunes as it offers all the amenities of Palmetto Dunes, but is super convenient to all that HHI has to offer. We also prefer to stay on the golf course and this villa has a great view of the 14th hole. The living room furniture was comfortable, as were the mattresses and linens. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and bake at the villa. The scratch-made bagels, cinnamon rolls, and focaccia bread turned out wonderful!
