It is only an easy 5 minute walk to Islanders Beach Park and the beach was beautiful. The resort is lovely and tucked back in the gorgeous Port Royal Village area. Our group of five adults enjoyed this resort very much but it is perfect for families with children. Only irritating thing was we were on the 2nd floor and the people above had kids that apparently liked to run and jump around which was clearly audible on our level. We felt like we were family there with staff, and the way they brought other families together for events at the pool area really set this place apart from all other places we’ve stayed. Our condo was clean. There are many improvements going on around the property and talking with the manager you can tell he is very passionate about making royal dunes a wonderful place. All communication was prompt and friendly. My mom traveled with us and uses a walker to get around and we requested special accommodations before our arrival. They have beach chairs and boogie boards to borrow and we loved that! It’s about a 5min easy walk to the beach (it’s across the street!). We drove my mom to the beach parking lot though, and if you forget your handicap pass, bring quarters for meter parking! It’s for a good cause. We also rented bikes that were dropped off at the resort and loved riding around the royal plantation area or to Paris Baguette for coffee and pastries. We just loved this place and really plan on coming back. The only thing is didn’t love (and I hate saying this) is out of the 4 beds in our rental the one was not super great, which happened to be ours. Everyone else had great beds, my kids did not want to leave. If we could bring our dogs we’d move in! The condos have 2 master suites which was very nice for two couples vacationing.
