The screened porch is a true highlight - great for napping, reading and entertaining. You will enjoy the cool temperatures and lovely breezes even in the summer (the elevation at the house is 3832). There is also a pretty field stone porch with adirondack chairs and a swing perfect for relaxing. Off the screened porch is a large, bright great room with a wood burning fireplace. We enjoy cooking so you will find the kitchen to be stocked with all the pots, pans and tools you need to create a great meal. This peaceful home is also conveniently located just 1.7 miles from downtown. You can even walk to downtown via beautiful and safe back roads. We loved every second of our stay. The home is tucked on a quiet road just a few minutes from downtown Highlands. It’s the perfect mix of feeling private and like a mountain escape and being close to everything fun in the area. We especially loved the fully stocked kitchen and working fireplace. We are not used to windy roads, so the short drive on the one-lane road to the home felt like a mountain adventure, but not too treacherous.
