This basement apartment was abolutely perfect for our small group for a four day trip to Hickory while our granddaughters sweated it out at Lenoir-Rhyne University's soccer camp. From being able to feed them breakfast at the kitchen bar to having the ability to pack lunches for them in the kitchen, we made use of all the offerings we couldn't have gotten in a hotel. The girls made it through soccer camp each day to enjoy a cool-off in the beautiful pool and then showered in the deluxe shower here. The two girls especially liked the toiletries provided in the bathroom. Check in was so easy, and except for the weirdly confusing street numbering throughout Hickory, the country setting was peaceful and relaxing. We are thoroughly sold on this location for a return visit. ##### Libby C. Our son had a soccer tournament in Hickory with spaced out game times, rescheduled games due to weather, etc. The Blue Door Guesthouse was our comfortable oasis to relax and enjoy family time. My sisters and I attended a wedding in the area and pick this place to stay. Looked great in the listings and surpassed our expectations. House was totally equipped with everything you could imagine. Beds were marvelous. Kitchen was super- we did prepare breakfast every morning, sometimes other meals as well. Location was wonderful. Wish we would have been there during summer as the outdoor pool looks extremely inviting for summer temperatures. Beautiful Cardinals ate at the birdfeeder every morning! Such fun. The place was even more beautiful than the pictures. It was decorated with wonderful attention to color, and it was perfectly clean. The kitchen was lovely and easy to use (and thoughtfully stocked with plates, silverware, cooking utensils, paper towels, etc. We had no issues during our stay, but the hosts were great.
