The first impression though is that the property needs sprucing up. Exterior is moldy and dingy and the common area that greeted us is musty and hot because there is no ac in that area. All interior trim, at least, needs cleaning and paint. That being painfully said however, we genuinely liked Mike and Linda and appreciate their love for our earth, and understand their choices for no ac, which is probably not needed most of the year, and minimalism as culture screams for us to consume more and discard and fill the earth with plastic landfills and all the other waste, I see them as pushing back against the culture and value that integrity. The breakfast was amazing, Johnny cakes made from corn harvested in the valley and milled at Sylvan Mill, delicious scones, and sausage. Mike is a wonderful chef and Linda is a very attentive host with a true servant's heart. The coffee could have been hotter though. We brought home some grits they milled from corn there in the valley and they are wonderful!
