We wanted quiet, away from the fireworks of the New Year celebrations and boy did this place deliver the quiet! It’s far enough away from the noise of a metropolis, but close enough to a small town for the ‘just in case’ of needing things at the local grocery store. The cabin itself was absolutely ideal! All wood interior with a spacious kitchen that a family of 4 plus could easily eat comfortably. Quaintly located adjacent to a golf course, the views from the front of the cabin are idyllic and peaceful. In addition to all of the comforts that the cabin allows, it’s a scant 40 minute, scenic drive to Helen, Georgia. I can’t rave about this place enough, but one thing’s for sure: we’re definitely making this trip again. ##### Paige C. We came up to get a permit and hike Tallulah Gorge and will be coming back to stay here at this cabin. Our dog loved the property as well and there is plenty of room inside the cabin and around the property for your pets. The owner/manager was extremely accommodating and communicates well. The house was great with a cute little kitchen with nice appliances, comfortable seating in the den and options for dealing with the heat—central air and a fan in the living area, and plenty of light. We backed up the drive as long as there was enough light but you can also park to the front. You are minutes from the Tiger drive in on Old 441, the Walmart, and on the South side of Clayton closer to the dog park (at the Rabun County recreational area) past the high school to the south—this was closer for us than where we stayed before. There are to entrances the first one with the gate is the one you want, but you can turn left from the other—-follow the curve around (a pond is on the right) until you see a parking lot to the left that has a bark park parking sign. You have to walk across a field to get there. When eating out, we recommend the Rusty Bike in Town for breakfast or lunch really and had dinner this time at the Valley Cafe on the way to Dillard to the north which was really good, and has amazing cakes. It is in an old bank and has a wine cellar on display in the bank vault. The place we were going —the Country Cupboard—was closed for dinner. ##### Erin L. The winding and steep and narrow roads are a little intimidating at first, but there's not much traffic in the general area, so it doesn't take too long to realize they aren't as bad as they might seem. If your car doesn't have a backup camera, though, don't park at the very top of the house's driveway--the parking spot in front of and parallel to the house is much easier to get out of. ##### Chris B.
